How would she be able to tell what may have happened to Hasegawa by looking at Makoto's memories? He wouldn't know. Seems like it's confirmed to be that way in the novels, but that scene on its own certainly still leaves room for speculation.

They literally just look extremely similar, but are completely different people. Tomoe confirms it by looking through the MC's memories, so there's 0 chance it's false info.
