There was more dialogue and more stuff but bleghhghg
Dialogue:
Praise the vessel, conduit to great power, promised liberator of the One Who Waits.
So the cards show me, now, then and after, drawn by the hand of Fate’s.
Your vessel is the newest, but your cards… are empty. For you must…
R: … not be the liberator promised.
You are just meant to stall for time, aren’t you? Maybe you rest easy, knowing that you don’t carry that burden.
R: I haven’t been able to rest ever since I was crowned. Despite that being the very reason I began worshipping Death.
You won’t find rest in the cards either.
R: Just my luck. I prefer dice anyway.
And what does the dice tell you?
R: Whether I’ll win my gold back from Shrumy or not. Perhaps I’ll do that now to make up for the blank cards.
Nobody knows the nature of these cards. If Fate speaks and nobody listens, what difference does it make to your life? Deck after deck, the boundary between past and future in my mind has blurred. It is times like these when the cards are blank that I breathe in the present. It must be easier to do so when there’s no prophecy hanging over your head.
R: … Are you saying you’re glad that my fate is undetermined?
Nobody’s fate is determined. Only known. Did you think knowing your fate would finally let you rest?
R: I also thought Death would let me rest, and look where that landed me. In the end… *throws* Guess I’ll never know.
