• The door closes
• Vic walks past creature, creature side eyes him
• He flops onto an armchair in the living room and exhales really loudly

Creach: “So… who was that?”

Vic: “Not now.”

Creach: “How was the omelette?”

Vic: “Eh? Oh, it was… fine.”

Creach: “Liar.”

Vic: “What?”

Creach: “You didn’t eat it. I saw your plate.”

Vic: “WH-G-A-YOU EAT IT THEN.”

Creach, with a stern expression: “I ate mine. Why did you not eat yours?”

Vic: “I- IT’S BECAUSE- PRETORIUS- I HAVEN’T SEEN HIM IN YEARS AND- AND- AND-”

Creach: “You’re nervous?”

Vic: “I WASN’T NERVOUS. I WAS PAYING ATTENTION TO HI- UGH.”

• Vic gets up and marches around the room

Vic: “WHATEVER. THIS- This was a reinnervation! Subject! We have to stop lazing about-”

Creach, internally: “We?”

Vic: “- and get back to what’s important!”

• Close up headshots of the two

Vic: “My creation, we are going back to doing SCIENCE!”

Creach, slightly endeared: “Back to doing science?”

• Same close ups, but now they’re in the basement illuminated by blue light

Vic: “BACK TO DOING SCIENCE.”
Creach, panicking: “BACK TO DOING SCIENCE???”

• “The next day…”
• Vic and creature in the basement, there’s some huge fancy apparatus, creature is wearing a gauntlet-sort of thing with wires on both hands, Vic is wearing the same plus goggles. With its hands, creature is ‘holding’ a hovering ball lightning, away from its face. Behind them are four coils

Vic: “GLOBULAR LIGHTNING!!”
Creach: “UHH- So what should we be recording?”

Vic: “Anything that happens! The existence of this intriguing yet deadly phenomenon is largely debated by scientists due to prior evidence only ever coming from unsuspecting witnesses. So I decided to create one in our basement!”

Creach: “I-Is this what you spent all of last night building?!”

• Flashbacky panel of creature in its bed, holding pillows against its ears while loud noise is coming from outside

Vic: “Precisely!”

• Suddenly a lightning bolt erupts from the ball, hitting one of the coils, going right past creature’s head

Creach: “Gah!”

Vic: “Also the omelette you made was very good! Energising even!”

Creach: “VICTOR-”

Vic: “Its movement shouldn’t be static. Here, toss it to me!”

• Vic does grabby hands motion at the ball

Creach: “Wh-? Toss it?”

Vic: “Yes! These hand electrode system hardwares are designed to contain the ball lightning. Come on, I’ll catch it!”

• Creature glances nervously at the ball
• And gently tosses it to Vic
• Who catches it swiftly in his gauntlet-thingies, the ball changes colours from blue to yellow

Vic: “Look at that!”

Creach: “Woah-”

Vic: “I’m going to toss it back now. Catch!”

• Vic chucks it
• Creature catches with one hand, it turns green

Vic: “With each impact, the temperature shifts and changes the colour. Pass it again!”

• Vic walks further away
• Creach chucks it

Creach: “Haha- Uhh, so… what exactly is the purpose of this?”

• Vic catches it, it turns red

Vic: “Ugh, must there be one? I’ve already invented this entire laboratory, can I not have a bit of mindless fun with a sphere of self-sustaining plasma?”

• He chucks it back to creature, it turns blue again

Creach: “I didn’t say you can’t- this is kind of fun actually. What if we did this with a regular ball?”

Vic: “Why?”

Creach: “I don’t know, so that- there’s less chance of someone getting vaporised if they happen to touch the ball?”

• Vic thinks for a bit
• MAYBE IDEA: Small chibi flashback panel of little Vic at school, some kid yelling ‘Hey loser! Think fast!’ and Vic getting bonked on the head with a leather ball

Vic: “LUDICROUS. Never suggest something like that to me again.”

Creach, blank expression: “Okay.”

• Creature is about to throw the ball lightning
• When the creature’s ‘gauntlet’ starts acting up, creature freaks out

Creach: “Hey-hey-woah-WOAH-”

Vic: “DO NOT- DROP IT-”

• Creature’s gauntlet reacts with the ball and sends it flying into a random direction
• The ball bounces off the wall
• Hits a shelf and burns it, knocks shit over
• Creature and Vic watch in fear as it bounces around the lab
• Vic hides under the table

Vic: “EEK! CATCH IT! BUT DON’T LET IT TOUCH YOU.”

Creach: “WHAT”

• Creature puts its hands out and tries to catch it, but the gauntlets react again and it drops it

Creach: “MY HARDWARE IS BROKEN, I CAN’T-”

• The ball bounces up the stairs

Creach: “IT’S ESCAPING”
Vic: “CATCHITCATCHITCATCHIT-”

• Creature and Vic chase it up into the living room, where its bouncing all over, leaving burn marks on everything it touches
• Creach and Vic hide behind furniture, Vic’s goggles are off

Vic: “DO SOMETHING!!”

Creach: “DO WHAT? MY HARDWARE FAILED.”

Vic: “GAH- FINE, I’LL DO SOMETHING MYSELF-”

• Victor gets up from behind the furniture (an armchair or something?), hands out, ready to catch, determined expression

Vic: “The chances of you failing are higher anyway due to your larger body size, as opposed to me who is much more-”

• The ball zooms past him, and just as it does, it lets out a bolt that hits him directly, electrocuting him
• He flops down onto the floor, squigglies for eyes, smoke coming off of him, with little chibi-bird-Vics circling his head
• Close up of creature’s absolute dumbfounded face
• The ball lightning zooms right over creature’s head, creature ducks
• It gets up from behind cover, furious expression
• The ball lightning bounces and heads back for it
• Creature grabs a wooden plank off of the ground
• And baseballs it right towards the window
• It phases through the window glass
• Bounces off a tree trunk
• Off the house roof
• And into the cloudy sky
• The clouds crackle
• And instantly begin raining
• Creature, in a frozen batter pose, panting
• It looks to Victor, panicking
• Grabs a flask of liquid off of a shelf

Creach: “Don’t be toxic- don’t be toxic- don’t be toxic-”

• Pours it on Victor
• Victor gasps and wakes up suddenly

Vic: “AAAH!!”

Creach: “Oh phew-”

• Vic instantly hops up

Vic: “Where’s the lightning?!”

Creach: “Uhh- it flew out the window.”

Vic: “The window?!!”

Creach: “Yeah, it- phased through the glass.”

• Creature points to the window through which it went, it's now raining

Vic: “Huh?”

• The window suddenly shatters into pieces, Creature and Vic go “!!!!”
• They look out the broken hole, Vic is all >:^( and creach sheepishly smiles

Creach: “Uh– delayed reaction?”

Vic: “You lost my spherical self-sustaining plasma.”

Creach: “A-at least it didn’t cause a fire?”

• Just as creature says that, a pile of papers on the living room floor catch on fire

Creach: “That’s a- VERY delayed reaction-”

Vic: “You’re hilarious, you know that right?”

Creach: “Sigh- I’ll go get water-”

Vic: “Wait no! This is an opportunity! A blessing in disguise! Finally you did something useful!”

Creach: “I didn’t even do this-”

• The fire gets bigger

Vic: “Aside from the globular lightning generator, I also built a new fire safety mechanism that can detect smoke using ionisation chambers!”

Creach: “Umm-Vic-”

Vic: “And once it does, it will sprinkle water across the room and put the fire out! Hypothetically!”

• The fire is getting bigger, its basically a campfire in the middle of the room now

Vic: “Umm… d-delayed reaction?”

Creach: “I’ll go get water…”
