APK limitations
Added 2024-04-18 15:53:49 +0000 UTCHi guys,
After reading into how APK works, I realized that I had hit the hard cap of 2GB for the game size on the APK file and it will no longer work on android without an expansion pack. In the past, many people were confused as to how the expansion pack worked, and it created even more problems. I have decided to stop offering android updates until I figure out a better way to package it into an APK file. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Edit: it seems there are some workarounds that I'm not familiar with on the client side. Let me know if you have some way of dealing with the install issue.

In the meantime, you could point people to use Joiplay. Joiplay is available in the Google Play store, and it's able to run (most) Windows-build Ren'Py games natively, including ones that are larger than 2GB. The biggest problem is that the user needs to know enough to download the Windows Ren'Py package and extract it to a folder on the file system, then in the Joiplay app point to the extracted package. That might be beyond many users' skill level.

2024-04-18 16:09:30 +0000 UTCHello bro, I just found a friend who solved this problem. I used a Chinese app called: mt manager. In it, I operated the game installation package: sign file, and then the installation package could be installed normally. But I didn't find this software in the Google store. I hope this can help you in future game development.
