Great reaction! All the references were on point, Lorde is a pretty big fan of George Michaels and were spot on with catching that. There is also two deluxe tracks that are really good, Helen of Troy and Hold no grudge!

an interesting thing that came to mind when you guys where talking about listening to songs while doing other things is that lorde has a very specific song making process where when a song is more or less complete she will take her headphones and listen to herself while doing a bunch of things (taking the subway, showering, cooking, just sitting, etc) to make sure it's good in different scenarios. i think it speaks a lot to how her music feels both great to experience while paying 100% attention to it and also while just putting it in the background of your day to day!

I think Deeper Well by Kacey Musgraves would be such a wonderful companion to this album!!!

Jenna Tiffin

do you think you'll cover the two deluxe tracks she put out as well? it really carries on the light pop feel a few of the tracks on the album have. love the video!

Bulli Point she refers to in Oceanic Feeling is a cliff in NZ people jump off into the lake below. Amazing reaction, I knew you both would appreciate this album. I love the themes in this, being grateful and celebrating loved ones. It was how I felt coming out of covid, when the album dropped. She is 5 years younger than me but so wise beyond her years which is reflected in her songwriting. It is the perfect summer album. She also released an album (Te Ao Marama) with 5 tracks rerecorded from this album in te reo Maori (the Maori language) which is one of the official languages in NZ. It's beautiful.

I'm so excited to watch this! Have been eagerly awaiting this. This album immediately resonated with me. I was surprised to see it wasn't well received by most. I'm so pleased I got to see her perform it live.

John Dory

Oh wow

Michael

AHHHH haha that's pretty clever

Michael

Thank you for watching <3

Michael

Thank you so much, we're glad you all recommended!

Michael

Yeah might do it before end of year, it is a sacred album to me at this point hahaha

Michael

I’m so happy you loved this album. I actually listened to and fell in love with this one before I ever heard Melodrama. I was also surprised when I found out that a lot of people didn’t like this album. It’s so good!

Dayle

I feel like this album almost started the trend of like “wellness” albums? Harry’s House, Eternal Sunshine, Radical Optimism, many artists feel this pull of returning to their roots it feels like

Maud Douglas-andersson

Will you be checking out the new Magdalena bay?

Dillon

i will never get tired of watching you guys react to lorde. ive been waiting for this one and im so so glad you guys loved it!!

izzy flaherty

I knew you would would appreciate this album ❤️

You guys described the album so well in the end. It’s Ella that’s singing and writing the songs, not Lorde. It’s by far her most personal and deep album, and the lyrics are still one of the best of this decade 3 years later.

This album feels like a sunny, warm afternoon in the 90’s. Gives me a sense of nostalgia 🥹 never understood the hate for it, thanks for the video! 🫶🏻

I have found a thread of one thought that every artist that worked with Jack tend to use in at least one song. The thought of "heroes dying" or "fading". Also guys, you should react to Jack's band Bleachers their album Gone Now is amazing

Derlis Aguilera

Btw Lorde and Jack produce together, he doesn't produce all the music on his own

Derlis Aguilera

I also love the feeling of summer she gives in the song with the cicada sounds

Derlis Aguilera

Oceanic feeling is my favorite Lorde song ever 😭 it's so melancholic but also speaks of the possible future. It speaks about generations, she thinks about her father doing the things she's doing when he was young, she thinks about her little brother and reassures him that everything will be okay and she wonders about her future child, if she will also do the things she's doing like she is doing the things her father used to do 💖

Derlis Aguilera

this album makes me so happy but so sad at the same time, definitely a fav from her! so glad y’all reacted to it!

Mona!

The Mood Ring song is sarcastic😅, she didn't change, she's just making fun of all these ways people try to blame their emotions on mood rings, wind blowing, scorpio sign... this album is about healing on your own and facing your feelings so all of those superficial things are bs to her

tom_j

It's so funny that your dog started barking exactly on the song Big Star that is about her dog

tom_j

She actually won a grammy for Royals, like the first thing she ever put out which is crazy, and she was so young so that's when her life changed, Melodrama sadly didn't get any grammys which is insane to me because it's my favorite album released that year

tom_j

Ooooh I love Lorde and this is my fav album of hers! This just made my day☺️
