so happy you did this one and enjoyed it as much as you did! this was my favourite album for a solid two years straight when it came out. i hadn't listened to it in full for a while though, so, like michael, i got soo much nostalgia re-listening. such good memories attached to this album for me! i adore future nostalgia, but this is still my favourite dua album

2024-04-15 08:03:38 +0000 UTCi loved this reaction. i remember i used to listen to this album religiously, especially the deluxe version. it’s just sooo good, gets you in a specific mood and so good to dance to. the amount of videos of her sets i watched, she sounds even better live and her energy on stage is unmatched! ‘thinkin bout you’ was and probably still is my favorite. i wish she recorded a soul album. and since you liked it so much and talked a lot about how dua’s voice shines through there (and throughout the whole album really), i think you should check her cover of ‘i would rather go blind’. also, if you want to listen to something with a similar vibe, then definitely check out jorja smith’s album ‘lost & found’, she’s british as well. it’s her debut and it’s a mix of soul and r&b and a little bit of hip hop, there’s a freestyle song. there’s a tiny desk performance too and it’s simply incredible, probably my favorite tiny desk ever
