Update on some things

Hello people & patrons! This is a new kind of post as I've never done one like this.

Firstly, I'd like to thank the patrons I currently have since their support means a lot for me, thank you so much!

Next, I've been working on several things in the past few months which I'd like to provide an update to you all.

Custom Powerups
This patch was discontinued, it was a buggy mess that I'd like not touch again. It's a massive patch and required a lot of time and dedication to maintain.

Asar Syntax Highlighter for VSCode
I made some huge changes to how the highlighter works, but I completely forgot to post those here :P
You can now grab the extension from VSCode's marketplace.

Dynamic Spriteset System v2.00
DSS has a pending update where it allows for double the amount of ExGFX to be used. It hasn't been released as I'm waiting for the new PIXI version to arrive to do so.

PIXI
I've assisted Atari2.0 to implement misc sprite types into PIXI, making possible to insert almost every sprite type with only PIXI and not rely on external patches. Also assisted with other minor ASM stuff & testing.

Powerup expansion kit
I've opened a new repository for a project aimed to expand the amount of powerups available in the game in a easy way. It's not too far from being completed.
The goal of this project is to allow me to mess with powerups with ease without having to navigate a confusing maze of folders (it's still a lot of folders, but eh :P)

Personal
Right now I'm doing okay-ish with my life, could be better for sure! I've been spending a good amount of time playing videogames I've had on my backlog and assisting in my house to keep myself enternained and without stress from university. This also means that I haven't dedicated as much time I'd like to my projects and explains why I've been quite silent about what I'm doing.

That's everything for now. Hopefully it was a good read :P

Comments

I'm glad to see that you're doing good and that you've made an update! I relate to you with your current personal life as well. In terms of projects, you've got a solid set of them! I expect a fair chunk of us waiting for an update on the custom powerups patch; I can completely understand from why you decided to scrap it, and I'm really glad to see a spiritual successor being developed. I can't wait to see more about it, and don't stress yourself!
