Subconscious Baby
Added 2020-09-19 17:00:02 +0000 UTCI went for something more cute and fun with this. I hope you all enjoy!
The doctor had promised that he “Wouldn’t even feel it”.
The doctor was a damned liar.
Having an electronic chip embedded in his brain had a whole lot of feelings associated with it. While Ben didn’t feel the actual implantation, he absolutely felt the judder of electricity as his brain rebooted to compensate for the chip.
It was like he’d stuck his head up against a live electrical wire. For brain surgery, it was minimally invasive, but it still wasn’t nothing. “Dammit,” he grumbled, rubbing at a spot on his forehead.
The doctor was looking at a digital display. “It looks like the implant took. It’ll take you a little while to get used to the new control you have over your body - for the next couple days, don’t do anything too reckless, and don’t be afraid to use the kill switch if you have to.”
“Of course,” Ben replied, sitting up and stretching his arms. “How soon can I hit the gym?”
“Wait three days, at least. By then, you’ll have access to your unconscious controls. Be sure to keep detailed reports and maintain a daily journal of your progress, we need to see how this progresses. In a week, you’ll have a complete physical examination to make sure there are no ill effects.”
“Great. Does the nurse have the paperwork?”
“They’re right outside.”
…
Ben waited for his boyfriend to pick him up, standing at the hospital entrance. He could have taken his own car - it was self driving, after all, so safety wasn’t an issue - but they were getting lunch together anyways and it saved a trip.
Derrick pulled up, sitting in the driver’s seat but letting the car steer. Rolling down the window, he asked, “Everything go good?”
Ben rubbed at his head, nodding as he got into the car. He was anxious, but not about the chip. “I think so? I don’t really feel any different, but that’s normal. The doc said it might take a while for the new control over my body to become apparent.”
“Remind me again what it’s supposed to do?”
“Basically, it lets me take conscious control over subconscious behaviors,” Ben explained. “You know the whole, ‘A mom can lift a car to safe her kids’ thing?’”
“Sort of,” Derrick said, nodding. “You can only do it in extreme circumstances, because it’s bad for you, but when the time is right your body can do really impressive things.”
“It gives direct control over that.” Ben flexed his hands curiously. “And other stuff. It’s supposed to let me dull pain without painkillers, I can fall asleep at will, all kinds of stuff.”
“That seems like it could be dangerous,” Derrick pointed out, as they turned onto the road. “Are you sure it’s safe?”
“I mean, it’s a clinical trial. It’s as safe as they could get it, but it might not be perfect. That’s why they’re paying me.” He shrugged. “There’s safety measures in place, though. I can’t completely turn off pain, and the other controls only go so far. It’s basically just a remap of the way I control my body, with a lot of subconscious stuff becoming conscious.”
“Sure. So… Italian, for lunch?”
“That sounds great.”
As they drove to the restaurant, Ben checked his phone half a dozen times, more to occupy his thoughts than to actually watch for a notification in particular. I should just tell him. It’s stupid not to.
He bit his lip, fretting over the problem. But what if he dumps me over it?
“Are you okay, Ben?”
“Yeah, Daddy, I’m fine,” Ben said, nodding.
Wait, wh-
“What did you just call me?” Derrick asked. “It sounded like you said-”
“I just said Derrick,” Ben said, quickly. “You must have misheard.”
“I didn’t say what it sounded like,” Derrick pointed out.
Blushing, Ben looked away. “Whatever. I’m just kinda hungry.”
His boyfriend eyed him. “... sure. Well, we’re here.”
Heading into the restaurant, Ben took Derrick’s hand, holding it as they waited for a table. He had strong hands, hands that Ben could imagine holding him, taping him into a thick, crinkly- Dammit, not now. Later.
As much as he wanted to be Derrick’s soggy little baby, he couldn’t bring himself to say it, not while-
“Ben?” Derrick asked, staring at him.
“Yeah, dad-” what is wrong with me? “Derrick?”
“Um…” Derrick looked down, significantly, and Ben followed his gaze.
He was peeing his pants.
Right there, in the middle of the restaurant, in front of Derrick. Blushing, he stammered, “I- I didn’t- Daddy, I just-”
Raising an eyebrow, Derrick looked around the restaurant and flagged down the hostess. “I’m sorry, can we use your restroom? He just got out of the hospital.”
The hostess nodded, and called for someone to get over with a mop and clean up the puddle. “It’s alright, if you need to get cleaned up in the bathroom, it’s in the back, off to the left. Take all the time you need.”
Leading Ben by the hand, Derrick pulled him towards the bathroom, stepping inside. It was one of the family-style kinds, meant for parents with their kids, though in keeping with the upscale style of the restaurant, the changing table was a proper wooden thing instead of a plastic tray bolted to the wall.
“Did the documents you signed say anything about making you pee your pants?” Derrick asked, getting straight to the point.
“No,” Ben shook his head. “I didn’t know-” He swallowed, stopping himself from calling Derrick ‘Daddy’ again.
Derrick frowned. “Can you send me the paperwork?”
Ben took out his phone and sent the file, uncertain what to do about his own, sodden pants. After thirty seconds of reading, Ben closed the file and instead pulled up a map of the area. “Okay, I think I know what went wrong. There’s a retail store across the street, I’m going to get you a change of clothes. Can you wait here for me?”
Ben nodded, anxiety spiking. “What went wrong?”
“It’s… Basically, you might have had conscious processes become unconscious, as a tradeoff. Things that took active thought became automatic as your brain got rewired. I’m sure you’ll be fine.”
They kissed, and Derrick left to go get the fresh clothes, leaving Ben alone in the bathroom.
At a loss for what else to do, he just waited around, pacing in the little space while he waited for his boyfriend to return.
Derrick got back ten minutes later, carrying two plastic bags that he set on the ground. Stepping forward, he took Ben’s hand immediately. “So…”
“Yeah?” Ben asked, sensing that something was wrong. “Did they not have my size?”
“That’s not it. It’s… I think there’s been something you’ve been keeping from me, but I figured it out.”
Ben froze, anxiety spiking through the roof. Chuckling nervously, he tried to shake it off. “What? No way, Daddy, that’s-”
“That’s what I’m talking about,” Derrick said. “The chip, it’s making you do things automatically that you’ve been able to hold back, and… Well, I think what it’s saying is that you want to be my baby.”
Blushing, Ben looked away, shaking his head. “I… It’s stupid. I’m sorry, Daddy, it’s just-”
“It’s not stupid.” Leaning in, Derrick kissed him, gently, reassuringly. Pulling away, he said, “I want to try something, baby. Lie down on the changing table?”
Ben stood back, hands trembling as he got up and laid down.
As soon as Derrick stepped over him, Ben all but melted, his body assuming a limp posture that would go with whatever Daddy wanted. Derrick - Daddy - pulled down his wet pants, peeled away his boxers, and then bent to get to one of the shopping bags.
He came up with a box of baby wipes and a tube of powder, wiping Ben’s legs down with the former, then drying him off with a sprinkling of the latter. Ben knew what Daddy was going to get next, but when Derrick stood holding a fluffy white diaper, it still gave him a surge of excitement.
When Derrick slid the diaper beneath him, Derrick noticed he was hard, and frowned. That’s inconvenient, but-
The erection went away as soon as he thought about it, the chip giving unique control over his body. Handy.
Daddy smiled, taping the diaper onto Ben. “How’s that feel, baby?”
“Nice, Daddy,” Ben said. He almost wanted to cry, but in a good way - this was more than he’d ever dared fantasize about. He would have been happy with Derrick deciding not to dump him for having such embarrassing desires, but now, after an unintentional confession, he’d already gotten his first diaper change from Daddy.
And… he wasn’t done. Derrick bent back to the shopping bag, holding up a pair of bright blue shorts with an elastic waistband that’d allow for easy diaper checks. Childish, though not overtly so. He pulled those onto Ben’s legs, did the snap button, and then went for the pièce de résistance - a simple, baby blue pacifier.
Reaching out, he plopped it between Ben’s lips. Ben began sucking automatically, the blue shield barely concealing an enormous smile.
“You should have told me sooner,” Derrick said. “You’re adorable in a diaper.”
“I was… scared,” Ben admitted, talking through the pacifier. “I didn’t know what you’d think, and…”
“I love you, Ben,” Derrick promised him, raising his arms for a hug. “If you want to call me Daddy, I’m happy to call you my baby.”
Ben got up, sitting on the edge of the changing table and wrapping his arms around Daddy in a tight hug. It felt… right.
After a long embrace, Derrick pulled back, wrinkling his nose. “Baby, did you…”
Ben looked over his shoulder, blushing as he got a whiff of his diaper. “I’m- I couldn’t help it, daddy.”
Smirking, Derrick ruffled Ben’s hair. “I believe you, baby. Lie back down.”
Ben’s eyes widened. “You’re not upset?”
“Hey, sometimes babies are stinky,” Derrick said, shrugging. “It’s not your fault, that’s what your diapers are for. I hadn’t realized you’d be needing them quite this much, but if you changing your smelly butt is the price for having you in such cute outfits, I’m happy with that. Now, lie down before we stink up the whole bathroom, okay?”
Leaning back, Ben crossed his arms, beaming into his pacifier. “Okay, Daddy!”
…
Ben got a call from the doctor two mornings later. “Hello?”
“Yes, Benjamin? I was calling regarding the current trial - we’ve had some reports of unexpected behavior in the other subjects, and I wanted to check in on how you were doing.”
“What kind of unexpected behavior?”
“Their body doing things unconsciously. I can’t go into specifics, but have you been saying things without thinking about them, or has your body done anything that you didn’t tell it to?”
“Oh, yes. But it’s alright. It’s nothing dangerous, and I’ve noted it down and everything. You should be able to check the reports I’ve written on it.”
“Alright. If there’s anything you’re concerned about, don’t hesitate to reach out. I just wanted to make sure you weren’t experiencing anything dangerous.”
“Not at all!”
“Alright then. Have a nice day.”
“You too.”
Ben hung up.
Derrick rolled his eyes, the tube of baby powder raised in his hand. “Can I continue, or do you need to make another call?”
Ben giggled. “Sorry for the interruption, Daddy.”
“I swear,” Derrick said. “One day later, you’re already taking your diaper changes for granted.”
“I’d never take you for granted, Daddy,” Ben said.
They’d fallen into a rhythm remarkably fast. When he was on his own, Ben had no problems with his potty training. Whenever Daddy was around, thought, he was absolutely helpless to keep from filling his pants. In fact, he even had trouble changing himself, fighting an unconscious urge to let Daddy do it.
For his part, Derrick had to do a little research, but quickly got the hang of doting on his baby.
As Derrick taped up the fresh diaper, he asked, “How’d you get so stinking cute?”
“I only stink sometimes, Daddy!” Ben protested, giggling.
Dropping the old diaper into diaper genie, Derrick said, “More often than not, lately, but that’s alright.”
It wasn’t what Ben had expected to get when he’d signed up for the chip trial, but he wouldn’t have traded it away for the world.
