It kind of makes sense for SF5's art style to go in a different direction, because there's no way they're beating Xrd at the cartoony/anime look. What they came up with instead is not particularly impressive, though. I guess it's trying to be a bit more dark and realistic, going back to something like SF2's blood and vomit effects? Ehh. The ink / water splash effects were nice, at least.
