Trench War Spells 2: Bringing the Great War to your table

Hello good hunter,

Today, a set of four new spells inspired by the grim realities of trench warfare.

These spells aim to capture the essence of World War I combat and bring a touch of historical gravity to our fantasy campaigns.

"Foxhole":

This spell embodies the desperate need for cover in the face of relentless artillery fire. I wanted to capture that frantic moment when soldiers would dig in, seeking any protection from the barrage above.

Since explosions are dexterity saving throws, and rifle are ranged attacks giving cover is really the best of both worlds for this spell.

"Shell Shock"

It's a spell that sits somewhere in between bestow curse and cause fear, single target but if you have a way of dealing thunder damage, you can really do to town on the target, and the fear will prevent them from striking back.

"Smoke Barrage"

The choking, obscuring nature of chlorine gas attacks is reflected in this one. I know I made miasma of death for it in the previous set of spells, but this is more focused on choking them out rather than damaging them.

 "No Man's Land"

I always like to make spells that are fun for villains, this is one such spell.

The perilous stretch between opposing trenches was a death zone where danger lurked at every step. This spell recreates that tense, exposed feeling where any movement could trigger instant retaliation.

It's a double-edged sword, any movement if you're surrounded will turn you into grated cheese.

These spells are designed to add a layer of tactical depth and historical flavor to your games.

Enjoy!

Smoke barrage on the Ranger would be absolutely busted, since they'll keep taking fire damage inside the area

DevourerDragons

Unfinished and getting there, there are plenty of fun stuff I want to add still :)

I will fix this issue, no worries!

Monkey DM

Loving it so far, though I'm noticing a distinct lack the explosions.

Wheres the full compendium for the trench war stuff, or is it unfinished and getting there?
