Important Update (Coming Changes)

Starting today, 5/19/23, I will be freezing all Patreon payments for 1 month. A few private issues have come up over the past few weeks that have kept me from working on Summoner. This has been a hard year for me, and I'm sorry that I'm not willing to go into further detail.

I'm not sure exactly how freezing payments work, so I'm not sure if it will take today's payments or if it will start the next day, 5/20/23. If it's the latter, then that means folks who are/were already charged on 5/19 (today) won't be charged on 6/19 next month. If it starts immediately and not tomorrow, then it means folks who paid on 5/18 (yesterday) won't be charged on 6/18. Anyway, you get what I'm trying to say. I'm just not sure exactly whether the freeze starts the day it's clicked or the following morning. The latter makes more sense to me, but who knows?

During the freeze, Patreon does not allow Patrons to sign up. So, keep that in mind.

During this month-long period, no chapters will release on Royal-Road, but I will try to get at least 2 or 3 chaps out for Patrons during the payment freeze to make up for the last few weeks.

Also, during this time, I will be reworking Discord, Patreon, the release Schedule, and the Tiers that are available to something that is both easier for me to keep up with and hopefully will be better for you as readers and supporters.

What to expect from the new Kerberos Discord and Patreon:

1: Both Platforms will be renamed Kerberos (Patreon already is, but I'll probably change the picture to the new logo, and maybe get a banner made later that either includes both books, or is something based on the theme of Kerberos), and the Discord image will change to the Kerberos logo. Don't be alarmed when you don't see the cartoon Rowan Wilder in the bubble, lol. This will still be a Discord for Summoner Awakens.

2: This 'rebranding', so to speak, is in light to a future move of Kerberos, to have two books active at one time. This Discord will encompass both novels, and will have individual channels for each, that can be accessed by choosing specific Roles (much like you have already come to expect from most Discords if you are familiar with the app)

3: I will be reducing the schedule to once a week per book. Whether I post one chapter, two chapters, or ten chapters per book, they will all be dropped on the same day each week.

4: I will be decreasing the price of the 'main' Summoner Patreon Tier from 10 USD to 8 USD, and will be adding a matching Tier for the new series, once a name is chosen. So, two 8 USD Tiers, each supporting one of the specific series and receiving all advanced chapters for said series.

5: I will be adding a cheaper--2 USD--'Supporter Tier' for those who simply wish to contribute and help ensure that I can focus on writing while still supporting my family. In light of that, the Support Tier will get one or two advanced chaps from each series, rather than just one or the other, when that time comes.

6: The current 15 USD 'Kerberos Supporter Tier' will be dropped to 13 USD, renamed, and will include all advanced chapters from both series.

7: The Die Hard and Vanity Tiers will be dropped to 20 USD and 40 USD respectively, and will gain additional perks aside from the same perks as the  just a fancy Discord role. I'll have to confirm this with my publisher before I can say I'll do it with 100% certainty, but for those who sign up annually for either Tier, or for those who have been a member of either Tier for X number of months (TBD, maybe in a milestone type system). I would like to give something 'real' in return for your support. In the case of the 20 USD Tier, I'd like to send maybe a t-shirt with one of our chibi selection after a 2 or 3 months, copies of your choice of signed paperback after maybe 6 months, or something to that nature. For the 40 USD Tier the same perks as above, in addition to a 'special edition' signed hardback copy of the first book of Summoner Awakens with the original cover (if you remember that). Again, this is just something I'd like to do, and that I'll have to discuss with my publisher first.

8: PLEASE NOTE! If you want to participate in the 'Free Month', and get the few chapters I'm going to try to put out for Patrons during this time, you'll have to stay in your CURRENT Tier until it's over, since if you leave, Patreon won't allow you to sign up for the new Tier until the freeze is over.

8.5: As a side note. I would have liked to alter the annual discount in an ascending pattern so that those wishing to sign up annually for the higher Tiers could have gotten the full 16% discount that Patreon will allow, but, unfortunately, it isn't a 'per Tier' discount. It's more of an umbrella that covers the whole of the page. Since I can't do this, unfortunately, I will be adjusting the annual discount from its current 10%, up to 12%

9: Monday, 5/22, Summoner Book 1 will be yoinked from RoyalRoad, Patreon, and ScribbleHub in light of the book's debut on KindleUnlimited, Amazon, and Audible (performed by the always amazing, Jeff Hays). If you have any friends who want to catch the unedited version on RR before it gets yoinked, tell them they have this weekend to do so. Though, I must say, a ton of time and effort were put into the final cut, and I both biasedly and unbiasedly believe that it is a much better work.

Furthermore: 

I apologize for any email annoyance that my posts over the course of this next week may cause, but I will be posting a few different Polls here for you to help me decide on the future direction of the Kerberos Patreon. 

These Polls will allow Patrons to vote on what day Chapters are released in the new schedule for both books and help decide a name for the new Series (of which I will still have the final say, ofc, but I would like your opinions). I'll also poll possible merch ideas, Tier benefits, and so on. 

I'll try to keep it all down to this coming week and only bug you with them once a day instead of randomly posting every hour or some such nonsense.

TLDR:

1: Sorry, I'm a bad person. Have had a lot going on. Going to do better.

2: Lowering Tier costs and adding new Tiers and benefits. Listed above.

3: If you want to switch to the new, cheaper Tier but still want to get the make-up chaps I'll be posting... WAIT until next month (around 6/20ish) to switch Tiers, because during the payment freeze, Patreon will NOT allow anyone to sign up to this page under any circumstance. At least, from my understanding.

4: Changes to the Kerberos brand.

5: Possible merch? (if allowed)

6: Book 1 is being pulled on 5/22 from everywhere in light of being released on Amazon on 6/20. It is suggested to pull a month in advance to avoid issues. Warn anyone who was thinking about reading it before it left, but know that the final cut is much better than the unedited version.

7: Patreon polls and whatnot are incoming. Sorry for the annoyance. I hate emails too!
