Waterdeep City Map - City of the Dead - Complete (All Tiers)

Waterdeep. The City of the Dead. Part cemetery, part park, the City of the Dead was Waterdeep's primary cemetery. Low on space, many tombs and mausoleums have portals to demiplanes where the dead are laid to rest.

This post contains the complete City of the Dead map, all in one release.

Notes. There are a couple specific deviations from the source map: the statue of Ahghairon and the Thief's Knot. The statue stands about halfway down the image (in a well documented location) looking west to the gate and is my interpretation of a marble statue of Ahghairon.

The Thief's Knot is a hedge maze. I struggled a little on where to place this - finally approximating its location where you see it above. I referenced The City of the Dead novel (2009, Rosemary Jones) to place both the Knot and to figure out where the Dead End Gate (Carver's Gate) is - somewhere between the Coffinmarch and Andamaar gates.

“The public gates are very large and guarded, of course. But this is our gate, the Dead End gate. It’s just for the family,” said Sophraea marching back toward their gate. “To bring things through. It would be a terrible nuisance if we had to go all the way to the Coffinmarch or Andamaar gates just to take a marker to a grave.” (Chapter 3)

Which lead me to placing the Thief's Knot based on:

“Come on,” she said. “We need to get to the Dead End gate!”

With a last whip of energy back at Stunk’s men to discourage them, Gustin followed Sophraea as she twisted off the main public path and raced down the little used way to the maze known as the Thief’s Knot. (Chapter 20)

Realistically, this description could have placed it anywhere, so in the end it just had to go somewhere.
