Dungeon of the Dead Three - Baldur's Gate - Descent into Avernus (All Tiers)

Dungeon of the Dead Three. Welcome to the dungeon. Hidden below the bathhouse lies the dungeon, home to devout followers of the Dead Three: Bane, Bhaal, and Myrkul.

Map Notes. This version of the dungeon follows the book layout as written. Of note, areas D8 and D23 have contradictions between the text description and map. Area D8 is described as being a dry alcove, so the stairs have been moved to just north of the area and it is now dry. Area D23 is described as being flooded despite not showing flooding on the map image - looking at elevations and stairs in the area it makes sense that it would be flooded, so it is in my version of the map.

There are 3 variants available in the files: normal, beams, and corpses. Normal is what you see above which is the most flexible variant. Beams puts an overlay of various wooden beams supporting the ceiling to give the visual reminder/option of breaking beams and causing cave ins. The corpse variant takes a few of the different corpses mentioned in the book and embeds them in the image - they are included as tokens for use on the normal version.

Files.  The zip files below are organized in 4 folders: Roll20Free for smaller 70px images; Roll20Paid for larger 140px images; FoundryVTT for 100px dd2vtt files compatible with multiple VTTs; and Printable which are 140px gridded images in color and black and white.

You're right that it's not a clear change. I think a poll would be great! I plan on running the Alexandrian DIA at some point personally. Thank you for everything <3

I've been reading through the Alexandrian's posts as I've been working through DIA and I've been considering whether I should try and release a map set that supports his changes. This map was one of the first ones that had significant changes if I'm recalling correctly. As I got more into the nitty gritty details on it I discovered there are a number of different ways to "Xander" it and I now have a whole messy spaghetti diagram trying to figure out what the best way/most closely aligning with all his suggestions is. All of this is a long way of saying...maybe (?) I might try and get out a poll to gauge interest on vanilla vs. Alexander DIA and go from there.

Hey, I'm wondering if there are any plans to create the Alexandrian remix of this map? He edited the dungeon a little bit to have it flow smoother and be more dynamic. Much appreciation towards you.

Sorry had some bad reception on vacation. But completely understand! Thank you for all the good work.

The city map is my secondary project right now, with Avernus being my focus. I'm aiming to release a ward every 1-2 months approximately. And honestly, this schedule/plan is much needed anyways as drawing the hundreds of buildings in each ward is a bit tedious, so spacing out the work is needed for my sanity :)

Ian

Always happy to see you post. Question for you about the waterdeep city map. When do you plan to finish the rest? Sorry if missed it but I think Ive only seen the one ward?
