Trollskull Alley. An alley located in the North Ward of Waterdeep - a narrow alley of closely constructed rowhouses and businesses and home to Trollskull Manor, which hopefully your players now own.
Map Notes.
Scale – let first talk about the scale of the map because you might notice this map is NOT what is shown for scale on the Trollskull Alley map in the source (1 square = 10 ft). It is instead drawn at 1 square = 5 feet, which works for a number of reasons. First is the Trollskull Manor map, which is far more detailed than the overview map of the alley – the Manor map and my alley map align so that the manor remains ~45ft wide by ~60 ft long in both places. If you use the alley map scale at 10 ft squares, you end up with a 90x120ft manor and other inconsistencies (like the alley 'street' would be 30-50ft wide which is a big street and doesn't fit the notion of an 'alley' very well). This puts the overall map size at 72x50 squares, or 360 x 250 ft.
Trollskull Manor is shown here, as described, with some minimal (mostly broken) furniture in the taproom but otherwise cobwebs and dirt. Note for DMs, there is no upper floor access from the taproom itself - the access is the staircase from the street in the northeast corner.
Playability – I wanted the exploration of the core Trollskull Alley locations (as provided in the source book) to be as seamless as possible so I've embedded the 5 other described locations/vendors directly within the overall map (look for _Lvl1_ in the filename). I tried to depict each vendor as closely as possible to source reference and their intended services/goods.
The zip files below include both the "rooftops" view of the alley as well as the first floor of Trollskull Manor and other noted locations (The Bent Nail, Steam and Steel, Corellon's Crown, Tiger's Eye, and Book Wyrm's Treasure).
Files. The zip files below are organized in 4 seasons and 3x folders per season: Roll20Free for smaller 70px images; Roll20Paid for larger 140px images; FoundryVTT for 100px dd2vtt files compatible with multiple VTTs. There is an additional folder for the Printable maps which are 140px gridded images in color and black and white.
If you are using Foundry (and the Levels or Roofs modules), I have added separate zip file below for the roofs of the 6 buildings.
