This is a deep-ish dive of the Cumona Bar interior that was made for version 0.4.
Every single object is custom-made in blender for this project only.
It is rather low-poly and lacks the usual clutter a normal pub would have. This is a conscious decision to save time while creating the scene and to keep the performance as good as possible. The whole scene is about 210k polygons, compared to a character that is ≈ 300k or sometimes closer to 1m with clothes and hair.
This is the first post of a possible series where I show some of the things that are custom-made for Cumona Beach.
Additional info as to why:
At the start of this project, I decided to make most things myself, mostly to save a buck but also to keep things looking original. It also seemed like a waste to buy a lot of premade and poorly optimized interiors/exteriors when I do have the ability to create my own.
Even though it might take some extra time, I do see it as a healthy break of sorts. Just rendering and posing can get tedious at times, so it's good to be able to switch it up once in a while.
