Not sure if anyone has mentioned it, but Cestus III was the colony attacked by the Gorn in The Original Series episode "Arena".

While these are solid episodes, it's the next couple of weeks of DS9 episodes that I'm really looking forward to (especially S04E01 and S04E02 but the last two episodes of S03 as well). Being overshadowed a bit by what's to come makes it a bit more difficult to judge these episodes fairly, IMHO.

BTW, the actor who played Brunt (the Ferengi from the FCA) was often reused as an actor in Trek. Over the various series, he played something like 10 different characters.

The Ferengi are a short people, so everything is built to scale. The reason their houses look like hobbit holes is that their architecture is rounded to deal with the constant rain.

All the DS9 runabouts are named after rivers. The Rubicon is the river that, in the Roman Empire, marked the boundary of Rome's territory. When Julius Caesar decided to march on Rome, when he crossed the Rubicon, he knew there was no going back, and declared, "The die is cast". The last runabout was destroyed in the Dominion ambush of the Tal Shiar-Obsidian Order fleet, in the episode titled "The Die Is Cast".

I'll know Jen's mind has been fully corrupted when she stops saying "Oh, Frig" and starts saying "Oh! Fereng " when watching DS9.

So, Jen - I'm curious. I haven't heard you opine on Ferengi fashion. You've seen a lot of it now.
As for me, I find the clash of colors, patterns and textures to be almost overwhelming. And yet - somehow - each outfit seems to fall into a perfectly unified single theme that just seems to work. And they all seem to be exquisitely cut and tailored.
Your thoughts?
Also, easter egg: the baseball is being played on Cestus III - that's the site of the Federation library that the Gorn destroyed in the TOS epidode "Arena."

The beauty of this show and maybe this season in particular is its willingness to plant seeds unlike any star trek series before. I also love that they start moving away from the alien species being totally monolithic in behavior trope.

In fairness to Miles, I once knew a fella that threw his back out reaching for the toilet paper. Just don't get old, J, that's my advice😆

"That music!" And the camerawork. That whole Rom/Quark fight scene is so good. In fact it's a really great synopsis of the entire episode, silly as most Ferengi episodes are but somehow emotionally impactful at the same time. It really does feel like we've just dropped into a family dispute, real or tv, but from a Ferengi perspective. It's so goofy and so serious at the same time, I really love it.
