Predator 2 (1990) Full Length Reaction

Predator is back and this time he's taking on the cops in the city! This one had a really different feel than the first one, probably due to the change in setting and also the change in main character! Danny Glover held it down though 💪🏾 Cool music throughout as well! I'm really interested to see Alien vs. Predator now, any takers?

+1 for Moneyball.

The dinamic is hunter vs hunted, if the hunt kills his predator, that's it, end of story, plus he let the weapon go. The gun with the 1715 year on it means they've been here for many centuries.

Alexis Vorian

Sad to see this weak movie comes before Napoleon Dynamite, Moneyball or Memento, 3 movies I continue to wait for.

Andrew Roach

You may recognize Gary Busey as one of the lead villains alongside Tommy Lee Jones in "Under Siege", which you did a video on two years ago.

Jesse Hamm

Please watch Alien vs Predator! Thanks!

React next to the excellent "Prey" (2022) to end the Predator franchise on the channel.

Agree that Prey (2022) is the best predator film since the original.

Great reaction, exciting and tense! Just as my 1st viewing was for myself back in the day. It's not in the same league as McTiernan's Predator but it's a decent expansion of the world, I thought. And it's aged pretty well, being 36 years old now. In Predator II, the minor role police chief, played by actor Robert Davi, who you know from The Goonies, also was in License To Kill, 007's main antagonist. The blonde Fed guy is Gary Busey, you know from the first Lethal Weapon, he played a main villain. Was clumsy with cig lighters. AvP 1 and 2 aren't highly regarded with critics or audiences, generally. But I did enjoy them on 1st viewing, when they were new. I'm sure you will too. How well they'll do with views on YT, is anyone's guess. I'd watch your reactions of them, in any case. Predators (2010) is pretty solid, good cast. Prey (2022) is superb! Almost certainly the best predator film since the original. Predator: Killer of Killers (2025) is an animated collection of 3 stories in different time periods, I thought overall it was very good. Predator: Badlands (2025) I haven't yet seen but it has an 86% RT critic's score and a 95% audience score. So I've high hopes. Great job, Jen. Hoping to see more fearsome Predators and slimey Aliens on the channel soon. The recent Alien: Earth series, I thought was superb. From Noah Hawley, the same writer/creator and director of the awesome Fargo tv series. A:E has 1 season of 8 eps. It's set 2 years prior to the very first Alien film from '79. Great acting, some characters you really bond with, some extremely tense scenes and some brutal blood, guts and body horror. It's The Thing-esque sometimes.

Alien: Earth (2025) created, written and directed by Noah Hawley (Fargo TV Series) I thought was *very* good. It's set 2 years prior to the first Alien from '79. A:E has 1 season, so far. 8 eps. Some of the body horror is The Thing-esque.

I never really clicked with the original Predator. I like this one a whole lot more. Apart from anything else, it has a much, much better ending. My friend and i often quote King Willie to each other, and every time i'm supposed to be ready playing team multiplayer games online i say "El Scorpio is reeeeady," and no one has a clue what i'm talking about. 😅

Great reaction to this one. I believe the pistol given to Harrigan as a "participation" trophy will show up again in a later movie. 😄

Release order is the only order that really makes sense. My personal recommendations are: Alien (1979) - you've seen Aliens (1986) - you've seen Predator (1987) - you've seen Predator 2 (1990) - you've JUST seen Alien³ (1992) - it's ok, you and the community can decide Alien Resurrection (1997) - meh, you and the community can decide AVP: Alien vs. Predator (2004) - decent, you and the community can decide Aliens vs Predator: Requiem (2007) - very meh, skippable Predators (2010) - pretty good, worth a watch (builds some lore) Prometheus (2012) - controversial, you and the community can decide (builds lots of lore) Alien: Covenant (2017) - controversial, you and the community can decide (builds lots of lore) The Predator (2018) - very meh, probably skippable, you and the community can decide Prey (2022) - excellent, a MUST watch Alien: Romulus (2024) - very good, definitely watch Predator: Badlands (2025) - very good, definitely watch

Never really liked this one that much, but I'm here for the re-watch with Jen to get her take. 😳 Always thought Alien vs. Predator (2004) was an OKAY watch because it explains the origins of the Predator/Xenomorph cross-over and because of the struggles and interaction between the two main characters (predator and human). Also, anything Predator-wise beyond AVP except for Predators (2010) and Prey (2022) is well... NOPE.
