Smooth intro this time! I was ready for multiple takes but you proved me wrong.

Animation can be hard for me to watch, eye issues, but these reactions are making me consider it.

Oh if I had a penny for every time I was called an inferior male specimen.

Jen, you're going to LOVE next week's episode Raging Bender. I have a link where the files I believe are 29.97 frame rate and the YouTube ones are 23.98. Or vice versa. Anyway, have to quickly hit pause and play usually at a scene change to keep up with the drift. Pain in the rump but it’s worth it for me to watch along. wcoflix.tv/anime/futurama-season-1/?season=all

The sign at the gym you missed said "Windowless rooms available for ugly exercisers."

Curran Dobbs

It took me years to realize that the scene where Edna "kisses" Fry is a parody of the "face hugger" from Alien!

Gary Cameron

I use MPC-BE on windows and MPV on Linux. Both can adjust framerate based on audio or video, both have much better upscaling than VLC. I personally use framegen to double the framerate, then sync it based on audio. There is also Handbrake than can convert the files before being played. Edit: After looking it up, Handbrake can't do it without dropping frames and it doesn't do it cleanly. MKVToolNix or FFMpeg can do it but they are both advanced software with limited graphical interfaces.

I've been waiting for you to watch the first Zoid-centric episode! He is such a fantastic character, though somewhat underappreciated ("Ya crazy lobster!")

Gary Cameron

Hi all. I've not been able to follow along with any Futurama yet due to the NTSC / PAL frame rate variation that sometimes causes syncing issues. I've heard I need to play my copy at a play back rate of 0.9591 to Jen's 1.0 and it will stay in sync. Does anyone know of any media players that let you customize the playback speed with such fine tuning? Many thanks! :)

Jason Scade

You nailed it with the early Pon Farr reference. And yeah not only is that the song from Amok Time where Kirk and Spock fight but the weapons Fry has the option to use, the two he doesn’t pick are the two Vulcan weapons they use in that episode.
