Cameos in Looking Glass is one of several reasons you should be watching Voyager in airdate release order with DS9 like you did with it and TNG. The crossover moments we all love are always so cool.

Oh boy oh boy can’t wait for next episode

in the wire it's made pretty clear garak believes being on the station is a kind of torture. he was using an implant to make him get through it but it broke. he's now just dealing with it because he can't do anything about it

William Rosmer

garak's take on the boy who cried wolf is great, and entirely backed up by the story.

From how much you’ve been enjoying DS9 so far, you’re going to LOVE the rest of the series. One thing I’ve enjoyed with your reactions thus far is you’ll ask a general question concerning the series, ie “will we ever learn about X?” or “will they touch on Y again?” and it makes me SO happy to know that DS9 almost completely delivers in the best way on answering those questions.

Dean

Thank you again for your wonderful reaction, Jen. You're indeed a keen observer of the nuances. However, it's really hard to catch up on everything when you watch DS9 for the first time. Even I notice new things after rewatching it together with you for the third time. It's amazing too see the story arcs devolopping. The seeds the writer have planted during the last seasons are beginning to grow now. The built up for what is coming is really smart. It's not just the story of Garak, but also the story of Odo. The dialogues contain/imply a lot (Garak with Odo, Bashir, Mila and Enabran Tain). After hearing what they say to each other and how they are speaking with each other, how would you describe the relations of the characters? There is quite some room for speculations on the audience's side. What might have been Garak's betrayal? How might he feel about this accusation, after all what you've learned about him so far? Some truths might be hidden among the lies 😉

I don't know how long since you've played the Mass Effect Trilogy but now that you've got a bunch of Star Trek under your belt, you might want to listen for Marina Sirtis (Troi), Armin Shimerman (Quark), and Michael Dorn (Worf). Dwight Schultz (Barcley) is in it too but he sounds different enough that I would never have caught it if I didn't see his name in the credits.

Curran Dobbs

In case you forgot we saw Enabran Tain the first time in Garak's episode The Wire last season. And while not a big deal you should read who directs the episodes as it is fun to know when a cast member does the directing.

Andrew Roach

Definitely agree that you/Jen should not watch the screen during the theme music for the season 4 opener.

The best DS9 scenes aren't planets blowing up; they're people talking. Star Trek has always drawn its talent from the theatre and it shows.
