I think this episode more than any other sealed the decision to cancel the series. Only a handful of good episodes in season 7 as too many writers had been pulled to DS9.

You joked about it with Tawny but in your latest episode with Kate Mulgrew, she didnβt know anything about it. Did explaining it to her bring back all those memories? Gates: No, I think itβs just fun. Whatβs great is how my evolution on the episode has been. Because I do now think itβs hilarious. And thatβs great, why not think itβs hilarious instead of being concerned? Itβs turned out to be this cult thing. You know, you just have to laugh at yourself and laugh at whatβs gone on and I just canβt get upset by something like that. So it was fun to explain it to her. And she laughed. I mean, itβs funny. So why wouldnβt anybody? Itβs crazy.
