Wolfman Jack (real name:Robert Smith) graduated from the National Academy of Broadcasting in 1960. Bis first job was as his character then "Daddy Jules" at the station WYOU in Newport News , Virginia. Newport News is about a 25 min drive from where I live in Norfolk, Va. He changed his character name 2 or 3 times. And then settled on Wolfman Jack. Most of his fame came from working at a station on the border with Mexico. That station had a powerful signal that could be picked up all across most of the U.S.

2025-09-06 21:06:25 +0000 UTCI remember when this movie came out. I loved the cars and the music. I think I watched it around 17 times. I was born about 10 years too late for the early 60s cruising, but I sure did my share of it in the 70s. I had all kinds of hot rods. Looking back at some of the stunts I pulled, it's a wonder I'm still alive. Some good friends weren't so fortunate. But this is a great slice of Americana. It shows a time when life was slower and simpler. I can't wait for the complete watch along. Be well, Greg.
