Yes, and the 80s flick “night of the comet” is an excellent documentary on Halley’s Comet.

Twain mentioning Halley's Comet - Twain was born in 1835, when the comet flew by Earth. He died in 1910, when it came back again.

Stephen Kronfeld

Jack London was an author, wrote novels like Call of The Wild, White Fang, etc.

So the Mark Twain of Star Trek is a little bit Mark Twain, but mostly it is a copy of Hal Holbrook's long running Broadway version of Mark Twain.

Robert Cooper

The uniform looks very cool

Jerry Hardin started doing his own stage show playing Mark Twain after his appearance on TNG. He also went on to play agent Mulder's mysterious benefactor 'Deep Throat' on the X-Files.

Next to seasons three and four, season six may well be my favourite season of TNG. There's just soooo many good episodes!

Ian Fleming

Troi and Twain’s discussion in the hallway and turbo lift is really important to me of the message of Star Trek. When we one day set aside our differences for work together to help everyone’s wellbeing, there will be very little we can’t do as a species.

Samuel Clemens (aka Mark Twain) wrote a few stories regarding time travel so it was fitting that he winds up in the future here. Also, I saw a review of these two episodes and the reviewer stated that this portrayal of Mr. Clemens is a bit of an exaggeration of his personality and is likely based on another actor's portrayal in a one man stage play about the author. I'm betting that was some of Marina Sirtis' own genuine amusement showing through while acting alongside Jerry Hardin playing Twain. At least it seemed that way to me as his performance was just a little bit over the top but still nonetheless enjoyable.
