Up (2009) Full Length Reaction

Comments

After 'The Cabin in the Woods, it was lovely to see 'The House in the Sky'. That was a beautiful, heart warming and fun reaction. 💜 I hadn't seen UP before. The opening 11 mins is the saddest montage for sure, it's bittersweet - as is life. Perhaps the 2nd saddest montage I've seen is in an ep of Rick & Morty. 'Watership Down' (1978) is a classic animated film based on a famous children's novel. It's about a warren of rabbits who have to make a dangerous exodus. Like 'Up', it's bittersweet. And it features a famous #1 hit song by Art Garfunkel 'Bright Eyes'. 12:10 Carmen: "Love is a rebellious bird" (Elina Garanca) ❤🐦 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2snTkaD64U That loopy "Kevin" bird made me think of the UK's beloved Rod Hull (RIP) and his *crazy* aggressive emu puppet. 😂 Emu shopping https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPvgZhjpJ7Q Emu confronts Sir Michael Parkinson https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kek1vs6bM2k Rod and Emu make an omelette (kinda) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xn7dpdlJ3k Emu destroys Aussie tv set https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bargXw21h-w Emu likes Richard Pryor but attacks Johnny Carson https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7m8UWxNEGOc 'Up' - Complete Score https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=chHf5FuQ8Qs&list=PLim3m5NnkYFdlPCmrVCB0GV_D7KVphaZq www.jenmurrayxo.com

Jason Scade

Agreed. She wanted a big family. That's why they didn't try again and turned their attention back to their childhood dream of visiting South America.

Joel P

I've seen this movie a couple times, and it always makes me sob.

roundone9

Wow! You really unleashed the waterworks on this one! I kinda felt bad for you a bit… wanted to reach in and give you a BIG hug. Hadn’t seen this one in a long, long time, but I remembered that montage all right… got to me back then as well. Leave it to the Pixar group to always know what buttons to push. I’ve always admired their ability to bring so much emotion through in their animation since little Luxo Jr. jumped after that beachball with such glee. If you haven’t seen that short film before, you might look it up online. It’s just too cute. 😆

Major Peril

LOL You might want to get that checked. JK.

Raven Dark

OMG, this. A thousand times, yes.

FYI, Paradise Falls is based on the real life Angel Falls in Venezuela. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angel_Falls

John

This movie is a timeless classic

Jamdivi

Popcorn in Bed has a 'Tender November' theme month to get over October horror season. I think a month is a bit much but a week or two of sentimental movies is OK 👍

Respect the Cockerel

Me too John! I'm weepy at everything, so I'm sure there's something wrong with me in the other directions.

Mastervodo

Gotta do the Toy Story movies if ya haven't seen them.

Joe Blankenship

Hard not to cry when watching this one. That opening is gonna get ya every time. Luckily it's got plenty of heart-warming to go with it.

Joe Blankenship

I always thought it was both, a miscarriage causing that she couldn't have children.

Gábor Árki

AND the ending!

Jack O

And.... Up gets another victim. lol.

TigerMyth

I warned her about havi… SQUIRREL… some tissues.

MrDannySteele

I knew Jen would Jen would be crying the whole movie and totally here for it. She gives such great commentary and emotion to her reactions.

Mario Serra

So glad you liked this movie. Might I humbly suggest you watch Homeward Bound An Incredibly Journey from 1990s

Cody Cameron

I would be worried about anyone who didn't cry during that opening.

John

Could be. But personally I think it seemed more like a miscarriage. Women have it pretty ingrained in us not to tempt fate & start a nursery until we know we're definitely having a baby. & the way she sat in the yard afterwards, definitely seemed like she lost a baby to me 😥 Either way, very sad.

Jen M

no worries, everybody cries at that opening. even old, grizzled vets like me

zynjams

One of the most beautiful love stories ever told - in 12 minutes.

John

So much heart and effort clearly went into this film. Might be the perfect movie. As far as the opening montage, I've always thought that the doc was telling Ellie she couldn't have a baby, as opposed to actually losing a baby. Still completely heartbreaking, but a little easier to accept in the overall tone of the movie.

Mike Miner

Huh ? Ok now I've watched it I understand what you meant 🙂 you were right buddy I really loved this one and Jen was incredible what a truly wonderful reactor she is 🔥🫶

Ian

Never seen this - wait, the OPENING is emotional? Dude I've got no chance

Anthony Peterson

I know exactly what I am watching together with Jen next! This is such a great, underrated movie. OK... maybe not underrated, as it won an Oscar. OK... several Oscars.

Mastervodo

I need to get me one of those tennis ball walkers.

Mastervodo

omg im so excited for this. i love this movie SO MUCH

MattN

I don’t feel like crying until my head hurts. I’ll save this one for a day when I’m really hydrated.

djKENTO

The toughest opening 10 mins in cinema history..

Mark T

Giacchino’s score in this is fantastic, especially Married Life, but my favourite part is whene… SQUIRREL

Mark McKeown

You cried? No one ever cries during "Up". Nothing sad happens in the whole movie.

Jon Hoover

Never seen this movie been tempted to watch on many occasions but saved it to watch along with you 🙂 you definitely look emotional in the thumbnail bless you 🫂 shall watch this on the weekend 🔥💙

Ian

I knew this one would get to you. 🥲
