Good movie and good reaction. I liked the movie better than expected. Good music. Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Nicolas Cage are good. Lyndsy Fonseca did well and is pretty. Hit-Girl steals every scene she is in. I wish the movie would have shown even more of her. Hit-Girl is a cool character. Well done. Early in the movie before she used profanity and before revealed how her character would be, the little girl (Hit-Girl) said "I'm f*cking with you Daddy" was a nice touch.

That was Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Dave Lizewski, I am still expecting him to be named the new James Bond. Oddly enough, Evan Peters was also in this movie, as Todd, he played Quicksilver as well, so both Quicksilver were in this movie. And the young girl was Chloë Grace Moretz. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, never watched it.

Didn't enjoy the plot too much - for the main characters completely unwarranted faith in the antagonist, leading to catastrophe. Felt some inconsistency there, Nerds aren't that trusty. But I don't know the source material.

2024-08-05 19:28:17 +0000 UTCI saw this movie in the theater, and I rarely feel strongly about a movie I dislike. In this case it actually made me angry part of the way through. I don't recall the exact scene since I only saw it the one time. My general feeling was "the writing is too dumb to support anything beyond the obvious exploitation of child actors in service of senseless violence." Tonally I felt like it was glorifying violence with the conceit that since kids are the ones committing violence it makes it okay. I can see how this story works as a gritty graphic novel, but as a "film" I find it trite and shallow.

The same concept of people trying to be superheroes and not being very good at it, but it executes that concept with complete confidence where this one seems to wish it was a real superhero movie while also trying to make fun of itself - not that any individual parts are outright bad, but it has an identity problem almost as bad as Hancock. And maybe a matter of taste, but I like the characters in Super who really believe in stuff to the point of being social outcasts and persevere through sacrifice better than the "bored kid sad about not being famous gets into trouble and gets lucky" narrative. And i like Eliot Page. :)

2024-08-05 10:52:36 +0000 UTCI've read the novel 'Let Me In', it's pretty dark horror. The original Swedish version (2010) of the film is excellent horror but oddly has some very touching scenes. I forget much of 'Hot Tub Time Machine' (2010) but I remember enjoying it lots - John Cusack rarely disappoints. 'Safety Not Guaranteed' (2012) was an enjoyable time-travel romcom, I liked it. :)

Anyway, this was a great excuse to rewatch it and I'm glad you had a good time, I forgot how good the music was, but you're always on top of that. The lead actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson is rumored to be the favorite to be the new James Bond. He has done a couple other movies I think you would enjoy and would perform well on the channel, Godzilla (2014), Bullet Train (2022).

2024-08-05 02:09:21 +0000 UTCJust watched the whole reaction. Yes, You have to watch Scott Pilgrim vs the World. Both this and Kickass were my favorite films of 2010. Another one from the same year you might enjoy is Hot Tub Time Machine with John Cusack, Clark Duke (Dave's friend in Kickass) and Craig Robinson. Since you seem to not know who played Red Mist, I would strongly suggest Superbad. Chloe Grace Moretz who played Hit Girl is crazy talented but I really question her choices in movies, however Hugo and Let Me In are pretty good (Although the original swedish version Let The Right One in is superior). Again all these are my own opinions and not facts.

Honestly I think both of these movies are better than the comics, but I don't like Mark Millar's writing much at all. I think he tries to be edgy mostly to offend and see what he can get away with. I'd love to see what you think of the sequel, especially for a certain character I don't want to spoil.
