Its nice when Dr Crusher is talking to him without the visor she acts like he has it on looking at him

RIP Patti Yasutake. I loved her character in TNG and she was so beautiful. Sad news indeed. Makes me really want to get out to a convention and meet some of these people before they pass away :(

A bit of sad news. While watching the reaction to The Host, I happened to notice a story on my Google news feed that was kind of related. It mentioned a Star Trek actor passing away, but at first I didn't recognize her picture (It's been a while since they made the show, after all). It was Patti Yasutake, and she actually was in episode The Host. She played Nurse Ogawa (who was assisting Crusher in sick bay). She had been in 16 TNG episodes and 2 of the TNG movies. She died Aug 5 at the age of 70. I realize that they use the term "parasite" earlier in the episode when they didn't know what it was, but just so you know, the term doesn't actually apply in this case. It would be more accurate to call it a symbiote, since it's in a symbiotic, not parasitic, relationship. A parasitic relationship is one where the parasite only gets the benefits, while a symbiotic one is one where both benefit. They didn't really flesh out the benefit to the host in this episode, but the fact that he mentioned that the relationship went back a long time and that the replacement host came willingly suggests that the host gets a benefit, too. The Romulans probably are aware of the tech of Geordi's visor. It's likely civilian tech, kind of a more advanced version of glasses. LaForge is well known enough (as Chief Engineer on the Enterprise) that the fact that he uses it isn't really a huge secret, either.

The Host was interesting to see again, I had forgotten that ep. Bev at the very start of the ep and Data. ๐Ÿ˜… They may as well have given him space-credits to go see a movie. Seriously though, a quickie in the turbo-lift? Seems fraught with peril. The Mind's Eye was excellent! Very exciting reaction and ep! I had completely forgotten that one too. Poor Geordie, he got space-MK Ultra'd. 00:39 "Insubordinate!" ๐Ÿ˜‚

I kinda hate saying it, but Troi is one of the most useless crew members of the Enterprise. Even Mot the barber is more useful.

Dustin Denner

As frustrated as we all are with Troy from time to time she only senses emotions. Geordie isn't aware he is hiding something. He is a Manchurian candidate. If the Romulans did their job well he won't remember anything other than what he is programed to.
