S04E21 The Drumhead S04E22 Half a Life

Roller coaster of emotions this week! I got pretty fired up in ep 21 and had both a huge wheeze and super sad in ep 22. Curious to hear your thoughts! Engage! 🖖

In "The Drumhead" I was really surprised not to see Troi at all. You'd have thought Picard would have summoned her at the start. "Half A Life" I'm always startled when David Ogden Stiers doesn't talk like Charles Emerson Winchester III. If you think killing yourself at 60 is bad, you should see Logan's Run and Soylent Green! By now you've seen Ensign Ro Laren. She is the Dr's daughter in this episode. Did they wait and and get Lwaxana, or what did they do with Mr Homn? Mr. Homn didn't leave.

The Lwaxana episodes are always a great time! Equal parts humor and heartfelt. Timicin describes her perfectly - she's such a lively and "vibrant" character!

There are compelling lessons to learn from The Drumhead. Fear and suspicion arms those with dubious intentions to emerge from the shadows from many directions and sides.

Jen, I don't know if you've put it together yet, but the actress that plays Lwaxana Troi Is Majel Barrett Roddenberry. Not only was she married to Star Trek's creator Gene Roddenberry, she starred in TOS as Nurse Christine Chapel, appeared in the original pilot episode "The Cage" (the one with Capt. Pike) as first the officer known only as Number One, and she's the voice of the Enterprise computer on TNG, and I think on Star Trek: Voyager too. Edit: she's the computer voice on most of the series and the movies, not just TNG and Voyager.
