Naked Gun 2 1/2: The Smell of Fear (1991) Full Length Reaction

Hey Jen, if you want to see Leslie Nielsen playing a more serious role, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you check out Creepshow (1982). It’s a horror anthology from Stephen King and George Romero (Night of the Living Dead). Leslie Nielsen appears in the 3rd story of this movie (So does Stephen King, in the 2nd story). Anyway maybe you can watch it for October? Either you’ll enjoy it. It’s one of my favorites.

You didn't just miss the end credits scene, but the actual credits had jokes in them as well. You might want to consider watching the original TV show: Police Squad! It would be a quick detour for you, since it's just 6 half hour episodes. It was cancelled after that because, according to the studio execs "You have to watch it." Seriously, that was the reason given (this was before VCRs became popular and there were so many visual gags crammed into it that you missed most of them on the first watching. It would be perfect nowadays, with streaming and constant rewatching of scenes, but back then it was just watched at the time of broadcast. Some of the jokes were reused in the movies (like the "Is this some kind of bust?" line).

Good laughs and reaction. That lion kill from out of nowhere. 😂 And I love the 'act like the towel is a face-hugger' gag he does. 😅 I hope one day you'll do Leslie Nielsen's very early 80s tv series 'Police Squad!' (in color). The Naked Gun films are a continuation of the series, but I find the series even better as the eps are only around 25 mins each, so they're very tightly paced. Six episodes / six different cases in total.

19:30 ish Jen didn't notice the buttz :D

I either don't remember watching this one when I was a kid or just never watching it. I know the first one though. You should definitely watch "Spy Hard" from 1996. It's another Parody film but that's all I'll say :) The man that shows up with something that says "To Serve Man" while screaming "It's a cookbook!" is a line from a classic Twilight Zone episode that has since become a legendary meme.

That Jen was a blast 😀 loved it and it's always great seeing you have a fun time . I'd say definitely watch the 'great escape ' before naked gun 3 and the Untouchables as mentioned already 👍 . Poopy pants I actually am more familiar with from another movie that you havnt seen so can't say 🙂 but seeing this movie makes me wonder if you would maybe watch the police squad series as it's only 6 episodes and could be a lot of silliness and fun 😀 . Cheers as always for the laughs Jen 🥂

That's a very good point.

Leslie Nielsen was a serious dramatic actor before the satire movies like Airplane & Naked Gun. You should really watch Forbidden Planet from the 50s that he starred in. It was a major inspiration for Gene Roddenberry when he created Star Trek. You can see some of the similarities with a younger Nielsen as the captain.

Don't know if you've seen The Untouchables. If not, try and see that before you watch the third Naked Gun. There's a scene that will be much more fun if you've seen The Untouchables. :)

Guy Gordon

The guy in the picture at The Blue Note is Michael Dukakis, lost the Presidential Election vs George Bush in 1988.
