Casino Royale (1967) Full Length Reaction

You know, if you weren't my dad I think I could fancy you. 😬

Well ok, listen. I didn't like this one. It was bound to happen sooner or later lol! Of course the cast is amazing and great music but it just wasn't for me. From what I've heard I'm not alone in this but if you're a fan of this movie, I'm sorry it just wasn't my thing. Still good that I saw it so I know what people are talking about now. Will be giving Never Say Never Again a go next!

The main reason this is such a bad movie is because it came out in the late 60's, when recreational drug use was becoming popular (think marijuana, LSD, Haight-Ashbury and the hippie counterculture). The movie studio wanted something that audiences could appreciate while high on drugs. So, they hired four different screenwriters (who weren't allowed to talk to each other) to write four different scripts. They tore some pages out of each script, stapled those random pages together, and that was the final script for the movie. Then they hired four different directors (who also weren't allowed to talk to each other), and each of them directed a few pages of the script. Then they hired an editor to splice that footage together, and this was the result. The only good this about this movie is the musical score, by Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass, which is fantastic (audiences could still appreciate good music while stoned)....

I never got past the first five minutes of this movie before, so watching it with you was a first for me also. Haha, wow, train wreck indeed! But having someone to commiserate with (albeit onscreen) gave it a fun MST3k feel to it.
