Your problem is you spent your whole life thinking there are rules. There aren't.

Ooooh these 2 eps were good! I wasn't sure how much like the movie it would be or how I would feel about no Marge Gunderson, but I really like the show! Interesting characters, dark humor, and I can tell things are about the get nuts! Apologies for the meowing cat, I didn't realize he was making so much noise 😻😻

Ah, so many good little things to notice. The washing machine so directly representing Lester's anger, the snow bells signaling Malvo's chaos spreading, one thing I noticed just now was Malvo's meal at Lou's diner: He has only eaten the meat and picks at a plate full of veggies and mashed potatoes. And nobody even has time to go into the details of Martin Freeman's acting. The tiny little flickers of expression, the way he gets away with talking without saying words when the character doesn't want to stand for what he thinks, someone could write a book about that.

Lester, have you been a bad boy?

Joined for this show. Billy Bob’s performance is amazing in this show. He’s fairly short yet so intimidating in this character. Something to notice, they work the broken washing machine into the background from time to time when Lester is stressed out

Oh that sounds annoying, sorry about that! I WISH there was just ONE copy/version of every movie or show, it would make all of this sooooo much easier

Just watched the first episode and really enjoyed your reaction. I did watch this when it first came out back whenever it was and remember really enjoying it. The best part is, based on the first episode, I clearly don’t remember what actually happened so I’m really excited to watch the rest. On a technical note, I experienced the most stupid sync issue ever. My version stays perfectly in sync with one exception - the fade to black moments (possibly where adverts would have aired) last three times longer than in your version. It’s no biggy as I’m used to needing to resync some reaction videos anyway, just thought it was weird.

Just saying, Season 2 of this show is some of the best TV ever put on screen. It's also stylish as hell, you're gonna love it.

The characters in the first season at least initially familiar (they will grow in time). Lester in particular seems like a clone of Jerry. And Molly is essentially Marge at the beginning of her career. All of the seasons contain homages to Coen brothers films, not just Fargo but to others as well. Worth noting that while the Coens are credited as executive producers to the show they have no involvement in the production -- The stories and characters are all a product of the mind of show runner Noah Hawley. The Coens, of course, don't use villains like Malvo typically. In movies like Fargo, Lebowski, O Brother Where Art Thou, and other films with a comedy element, villains are always of average to below average intelligence, and there's always a level of incompetence. Malvo comes off as supremely competent, and scary to boot. He is more like Anton Chigur from No Country for Old Men. Anyway I know you'll enjoy this first season of Fargo. As an anthology series, each season tells a new story with new characters. Each season also contains a minor element that connects it with other seasons and even to the movie.
