Your questions about how Star Trek influenced the development of technology is spot-on, Jen. ππ Back in the 1960s these episodes looked amazing, and it built up a lot of excitement of what the future could be like. For one thing, it was one of the few TV series that was in color (which was a big deal), and the gadgets such as "communicators and tri-coders" undoubtedly inspired the invention of the flip-phone, I-Phone, and I-Pad. As far as sci-fi storytelling goes, Star Trek was way ahead of its time. β€οΈπ Why it was cancelled after only three seasons was a mystery...at least it was to me π π But then, the network suits who call the shots for TV shows have made bonehead decisions before. For example, who were the idiots that decided to cancel Firefly after its first season? π‘π I love your enthusiasm, Jen. I think you're an official Trekkie now. I wouldn't be surprised if you start quoting some Klingon phrases. β€οΈπ€πJust for fun, here is your first Klingon phrase, "Qapla!" It's phonetically pronounced as "Ka-pla!" with a lot of vigor and gusto, and it means "Success!" or "Good hunting!"
