Deer History - Part 1

Some moments of ancient history from the Kingdom of Deer, before it's eventual fall. There is another part of it almost finished, coming very soon.

Deer History - Competition

The Kingdom of Deer had a lot of traditions, but the most interesting were their competitions to show off their strength and endurance. This kind of events held in the amphitheaters, and beside the regular plays, they were one of the source of entertainment for the ancient deer. It was also a way to honor their ancestors and the spirits of the forest, so the participants had to free themselves from the burden of clothes before entering the stage. These competitions usually attracted a crowd of watchers and a handful of potential mates among them.

Deer History - Study

The deer of the past often exchanged their knowledge with the other folks of the forest. The academy assigned scholars to visit the lot of different group of forest dwellers as part of their studies. They were supposed to share their knowledge with them and return with new knowledge about said cultures. Usually it was an easy task, but there were times when the visited tribes were way too friendly, and wanted to involve the deer in everything they could. In cases like this the task on hand could take a lot more time to finish as they left little time for the scholar to do their part of the sharing.

Deer History - Dryad

The dryads were an ancient tribe of deer who didn't believe in the endless search for knowledge. They instead chose to take care of the forest and the wild folks living in it. There was a belief that the dryads could communicate with the spirits of the forest, and being able to grant a blessing of good fortune for a small tribute. As this could make one really popular among their own, eventually every folks wanted to be blessed by the spirits. The dryads tried to use this belief to make the forest a more peaceful place for all of its dwellers. Unlike the Kingdom of Deer, this tribe still exists in the current age.
