I've done Poseiden Adventure, in case you missed it!

Keep Towering Inferno in the queue! The 70's had dozens of classic Disaster movies, including Poseiden Adventure, Airport, TI, and Earthquake.

Towering Inferno is definitely my favourite of this list, remember seeing this in cinema on its release (yes I’m that old) it was definitely my favourite of all the big disaster movies (Earthquake scared the life outta me because they had theses massive black speakers at the back of the theatre to simulate an earthquake) but tower has so many A list celebrities it impressive at the time it couldn’t had today, the budget would cost billion before they filmed anything. It’s a shame it probably won’t win. Jen could play a game to see how many actors she recognised

RebRox65

Yup! As I recall, the first big three were "Poseidon," "Inferno," and "Earthquake." I don't remember the order, but "Inferno" was definitely the runt of the litter!

Towering Inferno came out after the success of The Poseidon Adventure, which kicked off the disaster genre. Towering Inferno was a cheesy horrible movie that big stars couldn't save. Backdraft it is.

Doug Cook

A life changing “fire movie” for me was Fahrenheit 451 (1966) Directed by François Truffaut. (his only film in English, I believe). If it’s not right for your channel, I do hope you get to see it (maybe you have?) I think you’d love!

Jeff Preiss

Backdraft has a little bit of nostalgia for me, but not necessarily because of the movie itself. In what might as well have been a different lifetime at this point, my family went to Universal Studios Hollywood and one of the attractions was Backdraft that was like a set piece. I don't want to say more because of potential spoilers, but it was pretty neat.

Ladder 49 all the way for me but judging by the poll so far, it looks like I might be waiting for some time. Not that I mind too much as it's been a long time since I last saw Backdraft and The Towering Inferno is a classic. Basically, I am always happy to see Jen's reaction to whichever film wins.

Robert C

Backdraft, for me is the Days of Thunder of firefighter films. By that I mean that it is formulaic as hell. There's nothing about this movie that stands out in anyway. It's the definition of, meh. Towering Inferno, though dated, is a classic film with a classic cast, and worth a watch. Both Deepwater Horizon and Only the Brave are the two standout films for me here. They're both well acted and well directed. But they're also the only films in this group based on actual events. So the stakes for the people depicted in them were real. As for Ladder 49, I have never seen it, so I have no opinion of it.

It has impressive reviews. I'm going with Only the Brave.

Grinznmore

Backdraft is a great movie but only if you have not seen Only the Brave. Its a shame that its doing so poorly. apparently not many people have seen it.

James Young

Backdraft is pretty great for ostensibly a suspense action...ish film? Basically, I feel like it's more than just an action flick. The Towering Inferno is a classic. Deepwater Horizon is fine. I think what it represents is what matters for than the actual film.

JayWantsACat

The Towering Inferno is certainly an all star cast, certainly a event movie of it's day.

David Robinson

"Backdraft" is a terrific movie, Jen! "The Towering Inferno" was one of the first big "disaster movies," and it had a cast of real stars, like Paul Newman and Steve McQueen (and even O.J. Simpson!), but yikes, it was a piece of crap. (With so many stars, none of them gets much individual screen time.) But you can't go wrong with "Backdraft."
