The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006) Full Length Reaction

Really hoping you’ll pick up the rest of the series. 4 is a pretty good return to form but FastFive… Literally one of the best action movies of all time. The finale is top level. The series has had a hard time getting back to that quality but it stays solid through 7. As for Lucas Black, the lead in this film. He’s 23 playing a “super senior” who’s 19. He handles him self more mature than a teenager so it’s doubly hard to buy.

Hope to see 4 on your channel real soon Jen :) I agree with others here, 4 is where it starts to ramp up, 5 it REALLY takes off from there. There's an amazing build up to 7 which is the big emotional parting of the ways and 8 is like a victory lap for the franchise. (I don't really hold with 9 and 10).

you're in the home stretch now, I liked the first movie the 2nd and 3rd were ok. The 4th I think is when it actually gets good. 5 and 7 are by far my favorites in the series.

Keep going. These are just fun movies to watch, definitely worth it.

Incredi-Jen it watching with you was a wild ride, you belong behind the wheels of one of these bad ass machines. By all means keep watching the FF series and i`ll be watching along for sure. After watching FF2 and mostly through Tokyo Drift back in the day I kept thinking how much I missed Dom, was a killer surprise to see his cameo at the end, the look on your face was priceless : )

It only gets 1000 times better and better from here out. I cannot wait for you to watch the rest of the series. It gets stupid crazy over the top, but in such a very very good way.

Typically the tires are the rubber, the wheels are what they go onto.

I went to high school in a rural farming community, and many of the guys in my class looked like they had been held back a few years. It's just the genes, and lifestyle. To be fair there were a couple that started school a year or two later, but mostly it was just the way people looked in that area.

Agreed! You know I love to watch fun movies! :)

I recognize that this is one of the weaker entries in the series, but I think it is still very enjoyable, and has a lot of scenes/things that I really enjoy.

Every movie does not need to be an award winning film. The important thing about any movie is that is effects your emotions, and gives you some entertainment for a couple hours.

Keep Going!!!

Love this movie, every time. It's top 3 for me, as far as the F&F franchise goes. I'm glad you liked all the action and the stunts because from here on out the movies really lean in to the action and stunts. Also, a lot more hiest-y in the future. I think it loses a little bit in that transition from small time street racing to globe-trotting blockbuster, but that's just my own personal taste. And that's not to say the other movies are bad, just different. The stunts are always top tier, and the cars are always iconic. By the way, I'd suggest you check out Point Break (1991), if you haven't seen it. It *heavily* inspired the original F&F movie. And it's got Keanu and Patrick Swayze and Gary Busey and heists and fat stacks and surfing, you'll love it. To answer a couple of your questions: Yes, drifting is pretty difficult. It's not hard to get a car sideways, but keeping it just on the edge of control is tricky. Pro drifting is absolutely insane. Just like the stunt from the movie where they drift up the final ramp of the parking garage, pro drifters can keep their car sliding just inches from walls and barriers at insane speeds. It's 100% worth checking out some videos on youtube of like Formula Drift competitions, or Ken Block's Gymkhana series. And yes, you absolutely can go rent fast cars to drive around a race track. I haven't done it yet, but it's a bucket list item. If you've got a race track near you, you should check out their website. Race tracks will sometimes have like a couple hour program you can do where they'll teach you a bit and then you can do a couple laps in a rental. It gets pricey though, usually they'll start around $400 for a couple laps and it only goes up from there. Sometimes you can do ride-along laps for cheaper though.

Excellent! Now can’t wait for you to start watching the rest of them. Trust me, they get better after this one.
