2023-01-13 21:24:19 +0000 UTCWas watching Gorillas in the Mist(1988) last night and it got me thinking about a biopic poll I'd also recommend Chaplin(1992), Domino(2005), Catch Me If You Can(2002), Bohemian Rhapsody(2018), The Wolf of Wall Street(2013) The Diving Bell and the Butterfly(2007) and Mommie Dearest(1981)

2023-01-12 21:52:33 +0000 UTC"The Hustler" is a great film about a pool player co-starring Jackie Gleason as Minnesota Fats and George C Scott in a supporting role. There was a sequel done 25 years later in 1986 called "The Color Of Money", where Newman reprises the role opposite a young Tom Cruise

2023-01-12 19:27:51 +0000 UTCFavourite Paul Newman film... Message In A Bottle. The down side is that he's not in it much but his character and performance are incredible.

2023-01-11 07:13:26 +0000 UTC'Cool Hand Luke' was probably the 1960s' Shawshank Redemption.

2023-01-10 03:35:11 +0000 UTCHudsucker is magical and Capra-esque. The Color of Money has been a favorite of mine since its release, a cracking Scorsese drama about pool hustlers. Ah-hoo, werewolves of London, Ah-hoo! :D

2023-01-10 03:34:21 +0000 UTCPaul Newman is fantastic in, "The Verdict,". It definitely should be on the list. Hopefully next time?

2023-01-08 17:29:57 +0000 UTCHi Jen, please include the 1967 film (Hombre) & the 1981 film (Absence Of Malice) in any future Paul Newman poll. The Sting was my best choice from this poll, with Towering Inferno close behind. Especially, as Jen is the only reactor I`ve seen, who has reacted to a disaster movie, so far.

2023-01-08 04:12:34 +0000 UTCLet's follow with a Robert Redford poll! I loved 'Jeremiah Johnson' 'Sneakers' 'A River runs Through It' (Director) 'Out of Africa' w/Meryl Streep! Awesome movies!

2023-01-08 03:03:05 +0000 UTCBut that's why I prefer these kinds of polls vs the pick one. They give Jen a better idea of how many people want to see a particular movie.

2023-01-08 01:50:24 +0000 UTCYou can't go wrong with any of them but The Sting soundtrack was on repeat at my house growing up - it was a huge hit, so my step-mom was still playing it 3+ years later so that is my first choice.

2023-01-08 01:31:29 +0000 UTCTough choices, Jen! I voted for Cool Hand Luke, which is a terrific showcase for Paul Newman and has very funny moments (although it's not a comedy), and also for The Sting, in which he plays off wonderfully against his frequent co-star, Robert Redford. (Redford and Newman were one of the best teams in Hollywood history.) Others have suggested The Verdict, which is probably a better drama than any on the list. You should be aware that "The Color of Money" is a sequel to "The Hustler." You might also consider "Torn Curtain" (1966), a Cold War drama co-starring Julie Andrews, directed by Alfred Hitchcock!
