Aww, Cool Hand Luke didn’t win. 😞 That’s ok. Maybe some other time. I guess I’ll go cut the heads off parking meters with a pipe cutter while drunk (not really… πŸ˜…) in the meantime. 🀣πŸ₯š

Don't forget 'Cars' Paul was the voice of the Hudson Hornet..

Cool Hand Luke isn't just good t's iconic,Slap Shot was Newman's personal favorite...

Was watching Gorillas in the Mist(1988) last night and it got me thinking about a biopic poll I'd also recommend Chaplin(1992), Domino(2005), Catch Me If You Can(2002), Bohemian Rhapsody(2018), The Wolf of Wall Street(2013) The Diving Bell and the Butterfly(2007) and Mommie Dearest(1981)

"The Hustler" is a great film about a pool player co-starring Jackie Gleason as Minnesota Fats and George C Scott in a supporting role. There was a sequel done 25 years later in 1986 called "The Color Of Money", where Newman reprises the role opposite a young Tom Cruise

Sean Novack

Favourite Paul Newman film... Message In A Bottle. The down side is that he's not in it much but his character and performance are incredible.

Robert C

Ya I appreciate you voting for any/all cause it lets me know what there's interest in!

Jen M

'Cool Hand Luke' was probably the 1960s' Shawshank Redemption.

Jason Scade

Hudsucker is magical and Capra-esque. The Color of Money has been a favorite of mine since its release, a cracking Scorsese drama about pool hustlers. Ah-hoo, werewolves of London, Ah-hoo! :D

Jason Scade

Paul Newman is fantastic in, "The Verdict,". It definitely should be on the list. Hopefully next time?

Ron

One of the most underrated movies ever. Love that film.

They're all good but "Cool Hand Luke" stands alone.

Hi Jen, please include the 1967 film (Hombre) & the 1981 film (Absence Of Malice) in any future Paul Newman poll. The Sting was my best choice from this poll, with Towering Inferno close behind. Especially, as Jen is the only reactor I`ve seen, who has reacted to a disaster movie, so far.

"Harper" for the next poll.

Cool Hand Luke is so good! ❀️

Gotta add Three Days of the Condor, The Natural and All the President's Men(my personal second favorite) as well

Let's follow with a Robert Redford poll! I loved 'Jeremiah Johnson' 'Sneakers' 'A River runs Through It' (Director) 'Out of Africa' w/Meryl Streep! Awesome movies!

Celeste McAllister

But that's why I prefer these kinds of polls vs the pick one. They give Jen a better idea of how many people want to see a particular movie.

You can't go wrong with any of them but The Sting soundtrack was on repeat at my house growing up - it was a huge hit, so my step-mom was still playing it 3+ years later so that is my first choice.

Tim Arnold

Tough choices, Jen! I voted for Cool Hand Luke, which is a terrific showcase for Paul Newman and has very funny moments (although it's not a comedy), and also for The Sting, in which he plays off wonderfully against his frequent co-star, Robert Redford. (Redford and Newman were one of the best teams in Hollywood history.) Others have suggested The Verdict, which is probably a better drama than any on the list. You should be aware that "The Color of Money" is a sequel to "The Hustler." You might also consider "Torn Curtain" (1966), a Cold War drama co-starring Julie Andrews, directed by Alfred Hitchcock!

William 1611

I might as well have not voted, because I voted for all of them! :D

Vwlss Nvwls

The Verdict, Hudsucker Proxy and The Color of Money are also great Newman films for your next poll.

Richard Powers Hardt

All of the above are terrific choices.
