X-Men (2000) Full Length Reaction

Mankind has always feared what it doesn't understand.

I was so excited to finally see this movie! Knowing nothing about the universe or characters, I was totally along for the ride + that freakin Mystique really fooled me! I'd love to see more X-Men, what do you guys think?

Thanks for being here guys, I really appreciate it! 😊

⭐ Special thanks to Producers: MattN, Todd Preble, Ed Dunn, Incognito, John Walters, JT, Noby, SwimintheRain, Tim Drake, Ff, + those who wish to remain uncredited :)

X-Men (2000) Full Length Reaction

Comments

As cheesy as it seems now, in comparison to the plethora of super hero movies that followed, when this came out it was as ground breaking as Tim Burton's Batman. Tim Burton and Bryan Singer showed the world that you could have a super hero movie that was more than just a kids movie. And the X-Men universe has so very many great stories to tell, and dark stories at that.

Hey Jen! Glad to see you’re FINALLY venturing into this series of movies. Yes I do highly recommend you check out “X2 United” plus “X-men 3 The Last Stand”, even though it’s the least favorite of these 3 movies. I would strongly advise NOT seeing Deadpool 2 until you get through most of these X-Men movies. Mainly the new ones ( X-Men First Class, X-Men Days of Future Past and X-men Apocalypse) and for better or worse probably should watch X-Men Origins: Wolverine, only because there’s a Deadpool 2 connection. Then of course there’s “Logan” which as of now was the final installment of the X-men series and the most praised one as well. I know you have a long journey with these movies but I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.

This was a fun flick to watch with me dinner. I think now you have started, you probably have to do first 3 minimum. The 3rd being titled •X-Men The last stand. There are some story threads that continue over those. After that it becomes more messy let's say. A prequel, then some points of 'convergence.' To keep things spoiler free. Not to mention the Wolverine films, The 3rd •Logan That one being the one 'most' will be more likely to want to see. That being my personal favourite of the whole franchise. While all the films might not be considered comparable of each other in the quality stakes. So many of them add a little more to the world building. Even when the messiness starts to complicate things a tiny bit. But I think you've always been great at just enjoying films for what they are. It may be one of those cases where you might decide, I want to learn more. I still don't have the answer to this or that. There's one detail that I feel you have misinterpreted and I was tempted to enlighten you. But maybe you'd prefer to let the stories do that. I also feel youtube could very likely help out in that department anyways. I also wouldn't be in any hurry to get to Deadpool 2 just yet. If you did decide as you proceed, that you want to see more. Some of those references that they love to put into the deadpool movies. They will be from a variety of these other films. Great as ever Jen.

Fun fact..Ray Park who plays Toad also played Darth Maul in The Phantom Menace.

We haven't watched the X-Men movies in forever and thoroughly enjoyed this. Days of Future Past and Logan are hopefully on the schedule. They are arguably two of the best superhero movies ever made. Thanks Jen!

Lol oh I didn't realize the accents were off!

Jen M

I pretty much grew up with this universe, and I think they did a really good job of bringing it to life. This is really where the modern day superhero movie begins. The only thing that throws me a little is that the accents are all over the place. In the comics Rogue isn't Canadian, she's from the Deep South. It's Wolverine who's Canadian. But thanks to shirtless Hugh Jackman, every Wolverine parody now gives him a thick Australian accent...

Jon Anderson

MVP for Hugh Jackman ❤This is a cool intro for a saga series, keeps getting better all the way to "Logan" :)
