It's best to stop here and stay away from the rest of the Predator/Alien films. They were just money grabs. Only one made it above 40% on Rotten Tomatoes and that was Predators with Adrian Brody.

2022-05-22 15:08:51 +0000 UTCI've heard that the conceit of the movie is that it's, like, an '80s action movie but the cast is dropped into a horror movie, so they're just totally unprepared for what's in store for them. (Almost like a parody?) So it starts out with just this self-aware, over-the-top parody of an action flick, but then the Predator shows up and the movie takes a turn. I wonder if that's why they had fun with the credits like that: because it's was just kind of a silly movie with two genres, so they just threw in a nod to another genre with the credits sequence.

2022-05-08 04:56:55 +0000 UTCJust finished watching this with you! A couple of cool tidbits. Ahh-norld has another action movie called Commando & the name of that country and this one are the same. The black pilot with the sunglasses at the end was The Predator and also starred as the alien called Without Warning from 1980 which was the precursor to this movie. Hope you check out Predator 2 and work your way up to Alien vs Predator 😃

I remember watching it for the first time on my parent's new digital Surround Sound TV with speakers in each corner of the room and it quickly became a favourite. @Jen - District 9 is another excellent sci-fi action film you might want to check out. I don't remember if there's any kissing in it though!

The script is so tight, the score is epic, the team is just a bunch of badasses, immediately increasing the threat of the Predator, whose design is flawless. And Arnold--dear sweet Arnold--gives a really strong performance. Everything about this movie just holds up so well after all this time, barring Hawkins' jokes of course. And let's just avoid the topic of McTiernan's personal life. *ahem* Hell of an action director, though...

2022-05-06 17:40:32 +0000 UTCAs far as Arnie classics, Predator is up there. Glad to see you enjoyed it. Those credits do always make me chuckle right at the end. When all the action and violence is done. We get a nice pause and smile at camera sequence of the main cast. Most of which we just watched die in horrible ways. It's a little bizarre for the genre. 🤣 More like something out of a soap opera or tea-time action drama like The A Team. We've just seen it used brilliantly in Galaxy Quest. It doesn't detract from the film at all. I just always find it a bit weird. Any plans to watch Predator 2 some time in the future?
