π³οΈ Poll: Two 90's Disaster Movies?
Added 2022-05-05 16:33:40 +0000 UTCHey guys-- I'm doing an episode of Twin Movies on the YouTube channel Diegesis soon and in preparation I have to re-watch 2 movies I saw as a kid so I can discuss!
Do you guys have any interest in seeing reactions to Armageddon (1998) and Deep Impact (1998)? I haven't seen either in over 20 years and remember very little, just that I loved them for the epic disaster cheesiness lol! π

Ok. Well not everything I do will appeal to everyone. I was excited about this, but if it's not something you're interested in then definitely skip it.

2022-05-11 14:27:25 +0000 UTCAccording to the description of Diegesis' Youtube comparison between "The Illusionist" and "The Prestige": "We got to watch both The Illusionist and The Prestige with Timothee Reacts and discuss which movie was better!" They flat out say, "...which movie was better..."

2022-05-11 14:23:12 +0000 UTCIt's not to determine which is better. The idea of Twin Movies is to look at 2 movies about the same thing that came out within a year of each other.

2022-05-11 12:32:05 +0000 UTCNot a big fan of comparing two movies and determining "which one did it better?" I take movies on an individual basis. After all, when comparing "Deep Impact" and "Armageddon", two movies that are based on the premise of a large object on a collision course with Earth, why not include, "Melancholia" (2011), "The Fifth Element" (1997), or "When Worlds Collide" (1951). All are about the destruction of earth from a foreign body. All approach it differently. Why do any compares and contrasts?

2022-05-07 23:54:02 +0000 UTCI remember they were both up against each other when they came out, Armageddon got all the hype - although I liked Deep Impact better as a film.

2022-05-05 17:04:23 +0000 UTCThis will be the debate we have on the show! I have my fav but I do like them both

2022-05-05 17:04:11 +0000 UTCHonestly Deep Impact is so much better than Armageddon
Rick Trujillo
2022-05-05 17:00:03 +0000 UTCBoth a fun watch but Armageddon is the better of the two but only because of Steve Buscemi. Since Billy Bob Thorton is also in it you should add Slingblade to your list if you have not seen it.
