The Mandalorian 1x5 Full Length Reaction

We're back with our boys and getting into more trouble! Hard to know who to trust but Mando seems to have amazing instincts. Thank goodness he wants to protect our most precious baby Yoda, who I have decided is one of my all-time fav puppets 🥰

Thank you to all of you for hanging out and watching with me!

⭐ Special thanks to Producers: MattN, Todd Preble, CBonius, Tyler Gorash, Ed Dunn, Incognito

This shouldn’t affect your personal opinion at all, but at the time, I believe this episode actually caught some flack and was the least well received episode. Complaints included general Tatooine fatigue (we kinda go there a lot), some heavy handed movie nods (“take him to beggar’s canyon!”), and Toro being an irredeemable Han Solo wannabe, down to the pose in the bar. Oh well. Speaking of which, the cantina was the same place as the one from A New Hope, in which the bartender told Luke and Obi, no droids allowed ( we don’t serve their kind!). Now, it is run by a a droid! And more over, that droid was secret voiced by none other than MARK HAMILL! It was a secret cameo not revealed until afterwards. Despite the concerns some have voiced, we still got bunch of cool stuff. We meet the delightful repair woman Pelli Motto, played by Amy Sedaris, and assassin/target Fennic Shand, p,ayes by the ageless MING-NA WEN. She is the voice of Disney’s Mulan and Marvels Agents of Shield’s Melinda May, giving her the impressive trifecta of being a Disney princess, MCU character, and Star Wars character. Tatooine itself was GORGEOUSLY rendered, I mean that was some good looking desert! Up to this point we have only see Tusken Raiders, the “sand people”, as savages. In just a couple moments, with Mando remarking”they think of themselves as locals” and trading with them instead of fighting them, the show (IMO) brilliantly added dimension to both the Tuskens and Mando himself. The tuskens are natives of a Tatooine, and some of them are violent, but others are not. Mando, despite being quite the fighter, does not fight them, but respects them and barters for passage. And lastly, a small note to help orient yourself each episode: the show runners did this neat clue at the end of the episode, if Mando leaves the world/location, there will be a shot of his ship flying away; if there’s no “fly away” shot, the next episode will begin on the same planet. Just a small touch.

I think this is the first time I've heard a woman in her 50s get called "a girl". XD Don't worry, you'll find out who owns the pair of legs that walk up to Fennec at the end.
