Oh that sounds like a sweet story 😊

This evening's pick! I think I probably loved these films a little more when I was a kid than I do now. The first 3 are definitely my recommend limit. The forth is..... Not great. So I have low expectations for 5, which is in the works. But hey you never know! My affection for this first one was bolstered last year when I watched an absolutely fantastic documentary called •Raiders!: The Story of the Greatest Fan Film Ever Made. It's the story of three guys who were massive fans of the film and film making in general. In their youth they embarked on an ambitious project to try and remake the film shot for shot, the best way they could. But they unfortunately never finished it. The documentary tells the story one of them attempting to reunite with his friends to finish the project. It's a delightful love letter to film making. As a former film student, it evoked all kinds of warm memories that made my enjoyment of it, all the more special. I recommend you check it out in your spare time.

Ryan Gosling is definitely swoon-worthy! 🥰

Definitely watch the trilogy! For more young Harrison Ford, there's also Blade Runner. Really love it's sequel too - not a young Harrison in that one... but there is Ryan Gosling? Idk if it's the same level of swoon lol, but there's lot more reasons to watch than that :D

Oh that would've been so epic to see in theatres as a kid! 👍

There is no way The Mummy is better than any of these films, particularly Raiders. I saw this film opening weekend when I was 10 years old. The face melting scene was pretty amazing for its time, and awesome for a 10 year old kid to see.

MotoDork

I definitely want to see the whole trilogy! 👍

The next in the series, “IJ & The Temple Of Doom”, is my favorite for lots of reasons. It reminds me of Tarzan pictures I used to watch as a kid on Sat & Sun afternoon TV growing up. It seems to get a bad rap but I’ve never understood that. Perhaps it’s too “over the top” or dark for some viewers. It’s somewhat like when Roger Moore took over as Bond, they did try for more fantastical and humorous elements. But I loved those as well. Anyways, don’t be put off. The tone is different from Raiders but it is a wild ride from start to finish…🙋🏻‍♂️

I'm excited!!

The Fugitive is superb. Kinda envious (and curious) that you haven't experienced some of these films yet. You're in for a treat.

Chidi.

Oh I really want to see The Fugitive too! 👍

This is a fun movie and always entertaining. Glad you enjoyed it. Ford is great in many other films you might like as well as the sequels to this film and it's prequel. Having said that, I don't recommend watching "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull." The writing was lack luster in my own opinion. The Last Crusade is a fantastic film and I highly recommend it. I also recommend Ford's film, "The Fugitive". Great movie.

Prob do a poll to see what everyone thinks 👌

Nice 👌 Ohh ya ok I thought the Nazi's were into that stuff!

Great reaction as always Jen :) Occultism was really a thing in Nazi Germany. Heinrich Himmler( leader of SS) was paid a lot of attention in occult science. You must watch other two movies. The Temple of Doom is little bit controversial (still a good movie!!), but the Last Crusade is awesome.

A couple things you need to know: 1 - The 2nd, Temple of Doom, is widely considered the worst of the trilogy. I honestly think it's still really fun, but Marion doesn't return; canonically it takes place prior to "Raiders" so... they haven't reunited yet. I'd like to get a little bit more into that but that risks spoilers, so I'll leave it at that. (I mention that so that you can calibrate your expectations properly though; I've seen a lot of people go into it expecting more Marion and they're really disappointed when they find out, so I wanted you to be able to brace yourself). 2 - It seems like the 3rd, Last Crusade, is considered the best, although I lean towards "Raiders". It's got the most iconic moments. 3 - I actually think "The Mummy" is better than all 3; it's very similar in terms of... I don't know, style, mood, genre? It's essentially an Indy movie even though it isn't an Indy movie, and IMO it's the *best* Indy movie. And Brendan Fraser is easily the best actor to be an Indy type since Harrison Ford. (Several have tried to pull it off, they've all failed except Fraser. Maybe you could make a case for Chris Pratt but... I lean towards no. Although Starlord being part of the Han legacy is legit.) 3 - I am no dying to see you finish the trilogy up. I can think of a lot more movies I'd rather you see. But you've seen the first now, so you can judge for yourself how excited you are to watch 2 and 3 now. If you're eager to get to 'em, then I wouldn't try to talk you out of it.

Eric

Oh wow!! I didn't know they were like buddies!!

That movie was conceived by George Lucas and Steven Spielberg while on vacation together in Hawaii because Lucas was too nervous to be there for the opening night of Star Wars because he was afraid how people would react to it. 1 great movie spawned from another. Classic
