First of all a warm welcome to all new and old Patrons. Thanks for your support. Now, on to the DevLog.
Update 0.3.1 will be a bit on the larger side. As I have already mentioned before. Next to the new assets and backgrounds I have to make, there are also 2 major systems beeing introduced into the game.
1. Basebuilding:
This feature has been teased for a while now. Alas, it is finally coming. As everything I add, I wanted this to make sense in the story and not just be some busy work to keep you playing. That is why I took so long to deliver it. Now it makes sense to introduce it and the first project will be the fence mentioned in v.0.2.1.
The system will revolve around a few simple ressources and just like Robin cares for the field, Mia will help with the buildings. So when it comes to gathering and building, you will mainly direct Mia and not take part in it yourself. Leaving you with more time to focus on exploration and the story.
Obviously new buildings will also be part of the story, so even though this is Mia's task, you will be involved aswell. You might have to develop new ideas or plan the construction.
All the stats and times for the buildings aren't final yet, so don't take the numbers you see too serious. And you also don't have to worry about this clogging up the gameplay. I am programming the basebuilding in a way that requires only a few clicks and most things will work in the background. You won't have to check the screen on a daily basis, just like the field.

2. Skills/Levels:
The next thing that is beeing introduced is the new skill system. This will allow you to raise your stats through fighting. Addressing probably one of the biggest shortcomings of the combat system up until now.
I have to be honest here. I had always planned to put this system in at a later point in the story where it would make sense for the player to focus on getting stronger. That might have been a mistake. The lack of it made the fights definitely less important and more annoying. So I might change that during the development of this game and put it in at an earlier point. I'll have to see, for now it is coming as intended.
The system focuses on three stats. Sneaking, health and attack. You choose one and all the exp you make in a dungen will be put into that skill. The focused skill can be changed any time you want. Now the numbers for this system are also not final and might change, but you can't see much of those anyway.
Important to note is that I do not want you to grind out levels. If that is your thing it is obviously ok to do so. But I will not expect it. Obviously some enemies that will come later in the game will require you to have made at least some progress, but that should be easily rechable just by going out for food and the exploration you will do either way.
All in all a bit more depth and a starting point to develop the story further. All of this might still change in some way, but you will see some form of these systems in the next update. When will that be? I am not sure. I hope in two weeks, but it might be three. There is a lot to do.
