####### EPISODE SPOILER REVIEW BELOW! APPARENTLY SOME OF YOU ARE WATCHING FOR THE FIRST TIME ALONG SIDE ME, SO PLEASE DON'T READ BEYOND THIS POINT UNTIL YOU HAVE SEEN THE EPISODE YOURSELF! ######
------
First off, this is an excellent episode! LOVED the scene with Giles and Willow!!
Now then... something happens in this reaction that in a way make this a test of trust.
I promise you. I did NOT KNOW what was going to happen!!
I am really enjoying this 'version' of Buffy! With everything she is going through, then the money stuggles ontop of that.
And the pipe... the pipe...
Hope you guys are having a great week!
As always, if you click the video just after this post, you may need to download it first. This should be fixed in a couple of hours!

I absolutely LOVE the inserting of Andrew's backstory, him having raised flying monkey demons to attack the school play, "Everyone was like, 'Run, Juliet!!'" It cracks me up every time--but I also love it for the implication that all the season 1-3 episodes were only a SELECTION of the madness that was happening at that school ALL THE TIME. Flying monkey demons crashed Sunnydale High's production of Romeo and Juliet and it just didn't make it into an episode, along with who-even-knows what else! :D

2025-05-03 21:27:38 +0000 UTCI always believe you, Veggie. lol. By the way, I'm currently home sick with the flu and very grateful for the backlog of your content I've been meaning to catch up on.

2024-12-20 14:35:05 +0000 UTCFrom past experience with portals to hell dimensions in Buffy, if she had gone to the hell the portal was trying to open, her whole body, not just her soul would have disappeared, the way Angel’s did at the end of S2. Buffy didn’t die because of the portal, she died because she jumped from a great height and hit the ground, that’s a ‘normal’ death. Therefore it’s more likely her soul would have gone where it was supposed to. That’s why I think they had no reason to believe she was in hell, she didn’t disappear into the portal. It only needed blood to open and close, not her essence. I’m sure if the ritual had needed that Glory would have said it at some point.

2024-12-13 15:45:21 +0000 UTCI just want so second what most people seem to be saying here: 1. OBVIOUSLY I believe you, because it's clear how much you care about telling us upfront if you've already seen something or at least parts of it. 2. Predictions are part of reactions and I actually really enjoy them in yours (whether they turn out to be correct or not). Plus I think it makes no sense to ask you to not make any predictions! Because even if you don't voice them, you'll still make them in your head and they'll still influence your reaction. So I think it's actually way better if you voice them. Because this way we know why you react the way you do instead of being confused at why, for instance, you weren't as surprised about something as we'd expected you to be. Long story short: Just continue on being yourself (as the majority of people here suggest) instead of trying to be someone you're not for a few select individuals that don't enjoy your predictions! Because you'll never make EVERYONE happy; it's just not possible🤷♂️

2024-12-13 09:06:55 +0000 UTCI think willow was being stupid an selfish in trying to get Buffy back (and personally I think I'd have prefered if it han't worked and we'd have had to deal with a show without her), but I genuinely don't believe that she suspected Buffy could have been in a heavenly dimension (and I haven't seen the series before so I don't know if we'll learn otherwise or not🤷♂️😅).
Diego Zenhäusern
2024-12-13 08:47:03 +0000 UTC1000% Agree!! Veggie's reactions are great BECAUSE he makes predictions and jokes througout them NOT ins spite of it!

2024-12-13 08:42:01 +0000 UTCVeggie, you are one of the most genuine reactors I’ve ever watched, and I’ve watched a lot of them. Being good at predicting things in media is not a bad thing, and I not only believe you, I do the same thing constantly. I’ve always been very good at predicting things that follow standard story structures— it’s pattern recognition (you know, that thing autistics are literally wired to be better at)! Sorry that sometimes people decide that you’re “doing it wrong” if you don’t get surprised at the moments they expected you to be clueless— that’s a “them” problem, in my opinion!

2024-12-10 22:11:11 +0000 UTCHi Veggie, my wife and I totally believe you that you are genuine and haven't seen the show. We also love your predictions, whether they end up being true or false, so please keep doing them, whenever you feel like doing them. For our reaction to your Johnathan prediction, I haven't even noticed that you mentioned him, but my wife did and she was so surprised that she couldn't believe that she heard it right, so we had to rewind several times to make sure, it was really funny. And we were amazed in the most positive sense that you guessed it! Also, we don't mind you apologizing all the time, even though it is unnecessary, you should do whatever makes you feel right (also we're in Canada, so you know, sorry...)
Dan Mills
2024-12-09 03:03:56 +0000 UTCI believe they assumed she went to a hell dimension because that's seemingly the portal she went through. They didn't seem to think that other options exist. However, if hell dimensions exist, it's only logical to presume that heaven dimensions also exist.
Hanneli Norrgard
2024-12-09 00:00:07 +0000 UTCSpike is also the only one seemingly not trying to pretend everything is sunshine and rainbows, or "fix" Buffy - he's taken her for who she is, no complaints. No "you need to get angry, that's human" like Willow.
Jake M
2024-12-08 15:59:08 +0000 UTCI'm a bit late to the party as I only just finished the reaction, but just wanted to emphasise how much I love you making predictions. We're here for your honest reactions, and predictions are a huge part of that- it's what you're thinking in the moment. So please don't stop, or they might get dull. You're the only reactor I watch, so I can't compare you to others, but I imagine predictions and opinions are what makes each reactor unique! P.S. I'm 100% with Giles. Willow telling him not to piss her off is chilling. She asked him back to Sunnydale, only to threaten him ... Piss off, yourself. What happened to polite computer geek Willow?
Jake M
2024-12-08 15:54:13 +0000 UTCI get your point but Buffy fights bad things so coming across good ones at the mouth of hell is extremely unlikely. She confided in Spike because he’d have a better chance of understanding.
Delia P
2024-12-08 03:53:42 +0000 UTCI’d like to push back on this if you don’t mind. While I agree that Willow is very eager to solve her problems with magic, I don’t think it was entirely selfish. You say she had no reason to believe that Buffy was in hell because Buffy was a good person, but why should Willow expect the place someone’s soul goes after death to be based on their virtue? No one has encountered a creature from a heavenly dimension, so why should Willow believe that heavenly dimensions even exist? And Spike understands better than the others sure, but that’s largely due to Buffy telling him where she really was and no one else.

2024-12-08 02:15:36 +0000 UTCPredictions are easy to make sometimes, don't worry about it. Glad Giles told off Willow, not that it'll have much impact, she's far to arrogant and dependant on magic for that, as is seen by it being her first suggestion in every situation. Bad Willow! She threatened Giles with magic, she's clearly not thinking things through properly. I bet she didn't really believe Buffy was in hell (cause let's face it, there's no reason she would be, she was a good person). I think she just wanted to do big magic and needed a reason to get the others to help, because Tara definitely would have put up arguments otherwise. Spike, Dawn and Giles would have argued no matter what, which is why she didn't tell them. Willow, despite numerous instances showing the opposite, refuses to believe magic can't solve everything. Every name Giles called Willow is justified, she's an idiot. I think Spike is being brilliant, he understands better than the others and Buffy obviously trusts him and feels that understanding as he's the only one she's being completely honest with.

2024-12-08 00:58:21 +0000 UTCAs someone who also has autism, people with autism actually have a very difficult time being as disingenuous as you accused Veggie of being. I know you referred to it as a criticism, but let's be honest, it was more of an accusation. An accusation of lying. Sorry, probably my autism making me too honest there.
Tommy Ross
2024-12-07 02:19:15 +0000 UTCSame here. There is nothing disingenuous or fake about anything I've ever seen from Veggie. People are good at predicting what happens in TV shows sometimes. It doesn't have to be something shady

2024-12-07 02:10:35 +0000 UTCVeggie, thank you for taking the time to respond! And yes, the heart of what I'm saying is 1. Just stop making predictions and you'll avoid this issue entirely, and 2. For the things you can't change, just stop apologizing for them all the time. Sometimes I think you're Canadian, not British. :) There are a lot of twists and turns to come in both Buffy and Angel, and I just don't want to see this come up again, and again, and AGAIN, because it will if you keep making predictions. I watch a lot of reactor content and yours is certainly unique. I don't doubt that a lot of what you do comes from a genuine place. And I enjoy your deadpan humor (very British!) even when you don't crack a smile afterwards to let everyone know you're joking. I don't read the other comments here so everything I'm saying may be something you've heard before. But again, despite my criticism, please know that you are appreciated!

2024-12-06 23:10:19 +0000 UTCThank you so much for your honesty, Bruce. I know the crux of this comment is saying I should stop apologizing, but like I promised in the video - I am so sorry that you now assume I know things ahead of time. Honestly, when it was revealed I was right, I expected a lot more telling me the same thing. All I can do is promise I didn't know (if I was into faking these reactions, me not saying that I knew Joyce died could be a lot more advantageous than this twist, especially as I personally feel me guessing this one right ruined the entire video, hence the apologies), but I fully understand the lack of trust in me now. As for the autism thing, you are right, I do bring it up a lot. I am not trying to defend myself, but I was only diagnoised a couple of years ago, and realised I had been 'masking' my entire life. Making these videos is has been a way to try and combat that, but as a result, though I love making these videos, I am very wary of how odd I can come off in them. So I want to apologise early incase I cause confusion. Re: Arcane references, I am sure that will mellow over time, by yes, I bring it up a LOT! XD Again, I am sorry for this! That show turned up when I really needed it and watching reactions to it kinda became my escape during a dark time. The show only ended a week or so ago, so that should be less of a thing going forward. I have taken everything you have said on board and I hope to improve these Buffy reactions accordingly! I really appreciate the honesty, it is the only way I can improve!

2024-12-06 20:30:28 +0000 UTCThis is my first time commenting lol, but I have never doubted that your reactions are genuine!! I think it's so fun when you accidentally predict something ridiculously accurate. It happens to everyone on occasion. SO excited to see the rest of your reactions to this season! Maybe not the most popular opinion, but season 6 is one of my personal favourites. :)

2024-12-06 17:40:18 +0000 UTCApologies in advance because this is going to come off as a bit harsh. First, please know that I love your videos and don't want you to stop making them. But to your question, no Veggie, I don't believe you anymore about not seeing the video in advance, after the number of predictions you've made. And you say you're going to stop making them, but I don't believe that either. You can't even stop talking about Arcane, or obsessing over lamps, or talking over lines, despite saying you're sorry for it every single time you do it. Remember when you agreed with Tara when she said to just tell her what she's doing wrong so you won't do it again? That doesn't seem to be working. And if you can't stop doing it as part of your Autism, that's fine, but then at the very least I wish you'd stop apologizing for it and making a big deal about it every... single... video. PS - I still love you.

2024-12-06 13:18:24 +0000 UTCYou probably recognize the name Tito from when Xander mentioned him in “Bargaining: Part 2” while he was thinking of male friends that he could hit it off with. Also, the numbered shirts are almost certainly meaningless, but I thought of a possible meaning that almost makes sense. Every number we’ve seen before Willow and Giles had a fight has been a prime number (I believe they are 2, 7, 11, and 13), but Dawn is wearing a 55 in a scene after the fight, which is not a prime and symbolizes that the group is divisible now.

2024-12-06 04:57:51 +0000 UTCOMG, this. So this. The hyper-realistic depiction of Depression is one of the things I love about this season as well. I often marvel at how well it's shown here, and also think about how this is the first time I ever saw anything like that depicted so well. If you don't mind some really dark subject matter and content, I highly recommend you watch the show The Handmaid's Tale. One of the things I love about that show is how well it depicts PTSD. I have NEVER seen anything like that in my life, and I have PTSD, so it was incredibly satisfying to see a character have the exact same reactions I have had. It helped me to see that I was not alone, and that my reactions were/are normal. Not to mention, the acting is incredible. I won't say more here in case you or Veggie haven't seen it and you decide to watch/react to it. Except a warning: the show is extremely dark and hard as hell to watch. But, if you can get passed that, it's amazing. I had to force myself to watch it at first, and I am so glad I did.

2024-12-06 03:39:04 +0000 UTCDon't worry about accurate speculations. You're not the first, and won't be the last to make predictions, I realize you're on the spectrum, but trust me you're overreacting. And plenty of reactors talk more than you do at more inappropriate moments. We all understand and enjoy your enthusiasm for the show! It's why we're here On a completely unrelated note: If you have never seen it, you MUST watch the movie "The Court Jester" starring Danny Kaye, Glynis Johns, Basil Rathbone, and Angela Lasbury! A brilliant comedy!!

2024-12-06 03:28:10 +0000 UTCi believe you about jonathan! it doesn't seem unreasonable to come to that conclusion :) you don't need to apologize. (btw, i was impressed, that was my reaction) there was no episode about the flying monkeys that attacked the school play, that's the joke the show was making when they had warren and jonathan confuse him for his brother, who DID get an episode (which i'm pretty sure you liked, it's the prom one where buffy and angel break up and buffy is awarded the class protector award) you definitely don't have to worry about people getting mad you agree with giles in that scene, it's probably more derisive of you to say that you can see willow's side! (i can too though)

2024-12-06 02:10:39 +0000 UTCHow was Buffy paying the bills after Joyce died but before Buffy did, I wonder? Willow and Tara absolutely should be paying rent to live there. Imagine how much they've been saving by not living on campus again, and they can contribute that. It might emotionally too much for them to sell Joyce's things and/or the house. I have no problem with predicting things because I find this show (and most others) extremely predictable.
Hanneli Norrgard
2024-12-06 00:53:05 +0000 UTCI love when you make ridiculously accurate predictions 🤣 I don't feel like you're being disingenuous at all, just that you're smart and intuitive, and have a good instinct for what would make a good story. You aren't the only reactor I follow who has this problem, occasionally absurdly accurate predictions, and it really just is the case that for someone who is a bit genre savvy, stories can be pretty predictable. It's not a problem, it's just how they work. Having our expectations met in satisfying ways is part of what makes stories comforting to us.

2024-12-06 00:12:12 +0000 UTCI forgot to add, the reason Tom Lenk (playing one of the bank robbers, Tucker's brother) looks familiar is because he has been on Buffy before. NOT in an episode where flying demon monkeys attacked the school play, as that was never onscreen and was probably thrown in to highlight how inconsequential the individual members of this little trio of weirdos really are. However, Tom Lenk played Cyrus, one of Harmony's gang members and the first one killed by Buffy, in Season 5, the episode Real Me. They probably figured because Cyrus always had his vampire face on in Real Me, Tom Lenk could return as a brand new character, LOL.

2024-12-05 23:50:10 +0000 UTCI believe Jonathan, Warren, et al. were playing a tabletop RPG like D&D. This was during a time when RPGs were still firmly geekdom and hid away in dank basements. Being a lifelong gamer, I'm *very* happy it's more accepted now. In fact, I have several friends descending on my house tomorrow night so that we can play the tabletop RPG (ttrpg) Pathfinder! Since rent is not mentioned, I've always believed that Willow and Tara are, in fact, *not* paying rent, though it can be presumed that they are at least contributing to the groceries since they eat, too. It was necessary for them to live there when it was just Dawn and Buffybot, but they really need to either stop being extra bodies in the house and using up utilities, or they need to start forking over rent money. They're in the master bedroom and kinda, well, sponging off of Buffy now. They don't seem to have jobs and are probably just managing on student loans and, at least in Willow's case, parental monetary help during college. (I highly doubt Tara's father sends her money, especially since he didn't even know where she was prior to Family and left Sunnydale quite bitter and disappointed, the jackass.) I'm surprised no one, even Giles, mentioned a possible solution of selling the large house, having an estate sale for the furnishings and decor that aren't to Buffy's tastes, and having Buffy and Dawn buy a much more affordable 2-bedroom for just them. Although Sunnydate real estate wouldn't fetch them much money, neither would it cost much to buy a small house in that same town, and a smaller house is far more econimal for utility costs. Though from all the blather the bank guy was going on about, if a lot of money is still owed on the house, then maybe it just isn't feasible because they wouldn't get enough for it to be able to afford another place, even a small one. Yes, I know I'm thinking too much on it all, but I've been in a tough financial place myself, and so this part of the season really gets my mind whirring with thoughts. I identify with that part a lot, and I can't help but get a little ticked at Willow and Tara still living there. They mean extra costs in hot water, electricity, and groceries if they aren't contributing.
RavenLord
2024-12-05 23:26:48 +0000 UTCThanks as always for the reaction, Veggie! I wish I remembered season 6 a little better so I could recall how I felt about these episodes when they aired. I was sort of starting my young adult life at that time (I'm about the same age as SMG) and so my memories from these later years are more about real life stuff than Buffy stuff, I guess. Also I think at this point I had started to find Angel a more compelling show than Buffy. That Willow / Giles scene was sooo good, though! It's a confrontation you can actually see coming from a million miles back if you really think about it, but you always hoped it would never get to that point. Willow is right at that age, too, when you just have the potential to behave so badly with even the smallest amount of power because you still have virtually no context for all of the ramifications of your actions. I LOVE Off Menu, by the way. I'm a big British comedy and panel show fan and my favorite episode personally is the Katy Wix one. They are all great, but any episode with a panel show regular or a person in British comedy will always be a highlight for me! I'll have to go back and listen to the Tony Head episode -- I'm sure I listened when it came out but I don't really remember it now.

2024-12-05 19:42:02 +0000 UTCThe prom dog guy -Tucker- was played by Brad Kane (who was the singing voice for Aladdin actually) and he was asked to be part of the trio but had quit acting at that point, so they hired Tom Lenk to play his brother with the flying monkeys we never saw. That would have been a sick episode though!

2024-12-05 19:04:32 +0000 UTCSo let's recap what we've seen from Buffy so far this season. There's been psychomotor retardation, a level of slowing down of response and movement, like with Buffy at the sink just letting the water run and being slower than normal in her speech and thought process (e.g Dawn having breakfast 3 times a day); Anhedonia, the inability to find joy in things you typically would, such as Giles returning and Buffy saying she's happy to see him, but it doesn't really seem like she feels it; Emotional blunting, an inability to feel or express a full range of emotions, which Willow picks up on after the visit to the bank (the 'not exactly big on the whole range of human emotions' scene); sleep disturbance, which Buffy admits to when she talks about having trouble with waking up, and mentions sleeping great except for the dreams; and emotional withdrawal from friends and family, like when Giles reaches for her and she pulls away on the couch. her not seeming to spend that much time with Dawn, telling Spike about her being in heaven but not her friends, or patrolling when she really doesn't need to and could take a night off). Survey says.... Symptoms of Major Clinical Depression likely as a result of PTSD after being ripped out of heaven. And honestly this is a huge reason why I freaking adore this season so much. Because even if they fix everything in the next few episodes, this is still one of the best, and also the first ever, realistic portrayals of mental illness I saw on Television. These first 4 episodes of season 6 just blew me away when I first saw them, because I was so damn happy and thankful to finally see a show that had the guts to depict something like clinical depression accurately, even if it was for a few episodes it was more than I had ever expected considering all the 'very special episode' stuff that had come before. Love this season for that, absolutely love it, hats off, thank you Buffy season 6.

2024-12-05 17:47:05 +0000 UTCOkay, the Spike shoving Xander against the tree and seemingly not feeling pain scene. I thought the same thing when I first saw the episode, but if you watch the scene again he does wince, but it's like he's so emotional and angry and disgusted at what the Scoobies have done that he is able to push through it. But yes it does still hurt him.

2024-12-05 17:45:58 +0000 UTCRe that Anya scene. I typically hate jump scares, mostly because I have a pretty high startle threshold so I'm the sort of person who will jump out of their skin if someone shouts boo, but also because they're usually way overused and a cheap way to get a rise out of the audience without actually creating anything meaningfully scary or creepy. I love last weeks episode for it's ability to have an effective jump scare, and a damn good creepy atmosphere. The horror fan in me salutes the horror in Buffy 6x3. Okay, on with the reaction watching portion of my commenting. :D

2024-12-05 17:43:11 +0000 UTCThat is a very good question, how Spike was able to attack Xander. I'm sure there's some sort of bs explanation, like "it's the intent to kill that matters", but that would contradict him punching Terror to prove she's human.
