------
I bloomin' LOVED this one! Felt like a real 'feel good' episode!
Love awkward Angel! I really hope he changes how he treats his allies (and maybe make them friend! :) ).
Ok... am I crazy, or is Lindsey completely insane?! I feel like I may give him a hard time here (but another part of me thinking I didn't go far enough! XD).
It will be very interesting to see in what direction Kate goes! Maybe she will join the team?
Hope you guys are having a great week!
As always, if you click the video just after this post, you may need to download it first. This should be fixed in a couple of hours!

2024-08-28 02:03:04 +0000 UTCThis really was a great episode! I actually predicted that Angel wouldn't loose his soul, since him sleeping with Darly wouldn't result in a moment of TRUE happines. Because it wasn't sincere and he did it out of desperation and not love. ...still, I'm really glad my prediction was right, because I don't know if I could have forgiven Angel again if he'd managed to turn himslef back into Angelus🤔😕

2024-08-26 19:06:47 +0000 UTC"If nothing we do matters, all that matters is what we do" - and there we have it: the mission statement and philosophy of the whole show. At the end of the last episode, Angel was confronted with the meaninglessness and uncaring, neverending nature of the universe and gave into nihilism. Sleeping with Darla was basically a suicide attempt. He didn't care if he lost his soul, he just wanted an end to everything. But in this episode he comes around to a more absurdist kind of thinking, in the philosophical sense: instead of getting depressed because every thing is meaningless, rejoice in this fact and find your own meaning and purpose in a purposeless world. Instead of searching for ultimate truths or universal meaning, focus on finding meaning in the small moments of everyday life. Find joy in the absurdity of existence, and embrace the beauty of the fleeting, ephemeral moments that make life worth living. "The smallest act of kindness is the greatest thing in the world". This is a great episode; it's jam-packed with so many interesting moments and character interactions. I love all the moments between Angel and the crew - and I agree that awkward Angel is so much fun to watch - and watching Lindsay spiral even further out of control is always entertaining. One of the most fascinating parts for me though is the conversation with Kate in the hotel garden. "Maybe we're not alone in this...because I never invited you in" has so many interesting implications and interpretations. Did the Powers directly intervene in order to allow Angel to save Kate, and therefore set him back on his path? That's how I see it, and it's my opinion that they may have similarly intervened in Buffy 3x10 "Amends" when Angel was going to allow the sun to burn him, but a sudden weather front appeared at the last moment to prevent his death, and further back in Buffy 2x21 "Becoming: Part 1" when Whistler found Angel on the streets on unknown orders in order to shape him into a champion of good. Higher Powers of some form or another have seemingly been guiding him for years, or attempting to at least, and it's a relief to have Ange back on track.

2024-08-26 00:19:25 +0000 UTCI love that Wes, Cordy, and Gunn don't just forgive Angel and welcome him back right away when he shows up at the end. Actions speak louder than words and he needs to spend some serious time showing them that he is sincere. And, yes, Lindsay is a mess. He is obsessed with taking down Angel and tried to use Darla to triangulate the situation. Unfortunately for him, Angel and VampDarla's dynamic is even more toxic than Angel and Lindsay's dynamic and it ended up backfiring. And what do you expect when you align yourself with demons, vampires, etc, anyway? Are we the baddies?? Yes, yes, you are.

2024-08-25 15:32:56 +0000 UTCI prefer Angel like this too, but I take issue with him saying he’d been working so long for redemption he only started really helping people around half way through season 1 of Buffy, which puts him at about 3 and a half years with 2 breaks from it, one when he was Angelus again and this arc. I actually like his character especially when he’s being funny but he isn’t a good person. Which is shown in the 3 times we’ve seen him be mad or disappointed by someone or something and he has a chance to be good or bad he always chooses to be bad. 1st - when he told the hotel demon to have at the guests and left Judy to suffer there for 50 years, 2nd - when he locked the lawyers in with Darla and Drusilla ensuring their deaths and 3rd - when he goes down a darker route of despair when he realises that the fight doesn’t end and instead of just giving up and walking away from it or even taking the drastic step of staking himself, he decides to try and release Angelus, which would have caused lots of innocents deaths and painted a target on Cordy, Wes and Gunn’s backs because as Angel knows Angelus always targets the people in his life. Thank God it didn’t work, but that’s no thanks to Angel.

2024-08-25 00:48:10 +0000 UTCThe government doesn't mandated employers provide vacation time, and most Americans are fine with that. It is not seen as a true function of government by many to mandate employers provide things to employees, at least federally. States are different, and I could see people in certain states disagreeing with this. This is where state mandated sick time comes into the equation. My company provides not much less vacation time did the U.K. mandates employees provide, and it is a pretty typical amount compared to other companies I've looked into. However, unlike in a lot of countries, we aren't forced to use that time each year. Again, this is partly because people don't want the government to tell them that they have to do that. In most companies, this time just stacks on top of each other, up until a certain point, so you can accrue a lot of time, if you want. You don't have to, though. This can be used to take a lot of time off all at once or to be paid out when you no longer work for the company (in most cases).

2024-08-24 22:39:33 +0000 UTCYay! So excited for this reaction! Regarding Lindsey - love makes you do crazy things…just kidding lol. I don’t think Lindsey truly loved Darla and I don’t think his anger has much to do with Darla sleeping with Angel. I think it has more to do with Lindsey feeling bested by Angel for a second time now

2024-08-24 21:48:52 +0000 UTCTruly, this is one of my favorite episodes of the show - this arc with Angel firing the team and hitting his low point is so very interesting anyway, but the resolution here is just beautiful. Regarding Kate and the "I never invited you in" line, my feeling is she was saying she believed the Powers that Be stepped in somehow. Since she never invited Angel in to her apartment, she would have had to be dead for him to enter under normal vampire rules - which would be literally impossible for him to revive her the way he did... so either the Powers broke the vampire rules to allow him to enter before she died, or they enabled him to revive her miraculously.

2024-08-24 21:15:17 +0000 UTCGunn: "Did you check her pad?" Angel: "I went by there first, she wasn't there." Gunn: "Are you enjoying your visit to 1973? I meant her message pad."

2024-08-24 20:35:04 +0000 UTCLindsey is a strange and complicated guy for sure. And regarding USAmerican lack of paid holidays: yeah, there's no minimum. It sucks. Please feel free to criticize, I sure do! Twenty days sounds amazing. I could live so much more life.

2024-08-24 19:59:55 +0000 UTCI think Lindsey was less mad at Darla for not loving him and more mad at Angel for proving it to him. Lindsey is driven by his ambition. We've seen him abandon his morals just to rise in the ranks at W&H. After Angel cut off his hand though, Lindsey has turned his attention to getting revenge. I wouldn't be surprised if Lindsey wanted to use Darla to get to Angel and he went postal when Angel got to Darla instead.

2024-08-24 18:55:00 +0000 UTCJust popping in here to say that the link seemed exactly the same to me. I didn't notice a difference. Though I always use the links to watch and not the player on Patreon, so maybe nothing is changed in that regard lol... anyway, it all worked fine from my end. :)

2024-08-24 18:51:56 +0000 UTCComedy Darla was particularly comedic to me as she began just like Buffy did in season 2- "Was I not good?", before completely pivoting XD
