####### EPISODE SPOILER REVIEW BELOW! APPARENTLY SOME OF YOU ARE WATCHING FOR THE FIRST TIME ALONG SIDE ME, SO PLEASE DON'T READ BEYOND THIS POINT UNTIL YOU HAVE SEEN THE EPISODE YOURSELF! ######

------

This episode had me at 'Stake the b****!' XD

Really good set up and progression for each of the characters. It will be really interesting to see how this leads into the next episode!

I am afraid I am not sure I fully understand 'Holland's' point here, but it definitely has affected Angel (in the WORST way).

So sorry about the wait and the tech issues that delayed this, guys!! We are back to the schedule now! :)

Hope you guys are having a great week!

As always, if you click the video just after this post, you may need to  download it first.  This should be fixed in a couple of hours!

Ah I think I missunderstood, sorry!! I thought you meant I was quiet (literally, the opposite of what you said XD). I'll give it a listen, I am editing up Angel now!

I'll let ya know after the next video or two. some videos themselves have quiet audio so it could've been normal mic volume with a lower audio volume for the show.

Checked when recording my latest video, and no it seems to be on full volume! Did it affect the video in a bad way? I haven't changed anything and am worried about doing so if it wasn't a big deal!

VEGGIE GAMER

Did mic volumes change when you were streaming? you sound quite a bit louder than the TV show. Not sure if its just me or not. Maybe this vid was out before you were streaming again.

It was good to see Denver again. It just goes to show how the old book experts are needed and I hated to see him die because Wesley would have loved to meet the guy. Holland was talking about the same sort of thing The First was saying in Amends, the Buffy Christmas episode. Evil is eternal and will always exist. It isn't fighting a war. There's no end game and winning. So Angel fell into a state of despair and said he couldn't feel anything but the cold. That's why the sex with Darla. He didn't care if he changed back to Angelus. He was ready to end the caring version of himself. Why bother caring about people if you can't defeat the Evil? Too bad he didn't have Buffy around to fire off a few quips, "Alright, I get it. You're evil. Do we have to chat about it all day?" This episode mirrors Buffy 2x13, Surprise, but in a reversed, opposite kind of way. He needs to rediscover his soul instead of lose it this time.

Gung Ho

I read that as Artificial Intelligence instead of Angel Investigations and had an amazing time imagining Skynet vs. Glory. :)

Angel has entered existential despair. Nothing matters. He can't fight the final battle and swing the last sword and kill the last demon. Evil will continue to exist as long as anything. Earth is the home office. There will always be another apocalypse. He can't win. Even if he eventually someday fulfills the prophecy and gets his becoming human reward, evil and struggle will continue. So if he can't kill all evil, he's decided to just kill himself (his souled self).

Nicole explained it well, and I'll add that I believe Holland was also showing Angel that the Earth itself, the reality that he and Buffy and the others have been living inside, is a Hell dimension. Evil is a part of every being and permeates existence on Earth. There is hate, war, suffering, tragedy...because it's a Hell dimension, and Earth is apparently the home office of Wolfram & Hart itself, as they have always been there "since the first caveman." The point of focusing on the homeless man trundling by was to give the audience a visual clue that the elevator didn't have to go anywhere to show Angel the home office. How much of that is truth is up to interpretation, because Holland represents a darker evil overall. But for me, Earth being a Hell dimension makes a lot of sense, especially in the Buffyverse.

I have the Jeeves & Wooster collection on DVD as well. But without a means right now to play my DVDs, I've been looking for streaming platforms for all the Britcoms I've enjoyed over the years! Jeeves & Wooster was one of the few my mom couldn't get into with me (Doc Martin and Keeping Up Appearances were her favorites), but I adore the series have watched it several times. Fry and Laurie are a great pairing, and I've seen their skit show (A Bit of Fry & Laurie) as well. I've been watching Britcoms since I was a teenager, so I've seen quite a few over the years! So many brilliant shows. I just can't find any reactors for British comedies, which is such a shame.

RavenLord

Hi RavenLord! Glad you like Thin Blue Line!! XD As for Jeeves and Wooster, it isn't official, but someone HAS uploaded them to Youtube (in ok quality). It isn't ideal, but they there if you want them! :) (I LOVE me some Jeeves and Wooster!!)

VEGGIE GAMER

I had to pause the show to say that I *love* The Thin Blue Line! I have the collection on DVD, but I just discovered that Amazon Prime streams it as well. There are still two Britcoms I haven't been able to find on any streaming platform available in the U.S., Jeeves & Wooster and Take a Letter, Mr. Jones. But I'm thrilled that The Thin Blue Line has finally been made available. Sometime in the future when your schedule opens up as shows dwindle, you should expose your Patreon members to delightful British comedies, especially the ones we can't stream in America and the older ones like Thin Blue Line, Keeping Up Appearances, The Young Ones, etc. 😁 Even if I've seen them, I'll gleefully watch them over and over again.

Glaziers must make a killing in LA, the amount of windows that get smashed.

Jake M

The end of this episode harks back to Buffy 2x13, "Surprise", when Angel loses his soul after sleeping with Buffy (as you noted with "his gimmick" of the lightning XD), hence the title "Reprise"- a repeat of those events.

Jake M

The point Holland was making was essentially that Angel is fighting a war he literally cannot win, because evil is just an inherent quality/capacity that humanity has. It's not something you can get rid of. Even if AI got rid of Wolfram and Hart, at best there might be a short reprieve before "Hoofram and Wart" showed up again.
