Plane of Earth Codex [Monster Thursday]

This week, we are taking a dive into the plane of earth where you can find all sorts of strange monsters co-existing with the major elements of earth; that of dirt, gems, sand, and rock. Perhaps you need some monsters to help fill out an excursion into the plane, or maybe these monsters have made their way into your world, devouring innocent villagers.

Dust Mite (CR 1/8) These annoying pests are ambush predators, burrowing under loose dirt or sand, and then erupting out when a creature gets close. They are covered in dust, and seem to exude it, creating minor dust clouds as they move about. 

Dust Storm (CR 1) When dozens of pests gather together, they create a permanent cloud of dust that follows them, harkening their arrival. It turns these pests into a force to be reckoned with as they bite and tear.

Crystal Mimic (CR 4) Is it a sapphire? Nope, it's a mimic because of course it is. A crystal mimic can only appear as a cluster of crystals or gems, hiding within mines and planted by the dao who use them as guards. They subside solely on siphoning blood, leaving dried husks of their victims behind.

Gemanoid (CR 1/4) A creature made of crystals, the gemanoids are a very rare race that resides in the plane of earth, slowly being hunted down by the dao for the precious crystals that make up their bodies.

Living Mud (CR 9) Your players will never trust a patch of mud again. The living mud is another ambush predator, this one appears as a harmless piece of mud before it attacks. It tries to knock down creatures and then engulf them in mud, crushing them beneath its weight.

Sand Elemental (CR 5) Found along the edges of the plane of earth and the plane of fire, the sand elemental sometimes makes its way into the deserts of the material world. They are a swirling form of sand, with sparks of lightning crisscrossing its body.
