The Canine Bestiary [Monster Thursday]

This week we are looking at some of the goodest bois... well, two really good bois, one very feral boi, and the last two will pry eat you whole... bois. I like dogs, and I just want to include all different types in my games and in yours!

Adlet Scrounger (CR 1) Adlets are like satyrs... except they are wolf-humans. They have the lower body of a wolf, upper body of a human, and have a supernatural fear of running water... like all dogs when you are trying to get them to take a bath. The scrounger is at the bottom of the adlet totem poll, and may even be a bit of a runt. They scrounge through trash, detritus, their enemies' pockets for all sorts of useful stuff that will pry be taken away from them by the stronger members of their pack. They are based on the Inuit legend for adlets. 

Adlet Skirmisher (CR 5) Powerfully built, the skirmishers are quite strong adlets, though still not yet a leader in the pack. They are the main force of hunters who attack lost adventuring parties, towns and villages, and anyone they happen to struggle across. They weave in and out of combat, never staying in one place for very long.

Amphicyon (CR 4) This prehistoric beast is also known as the bear dog and for good reason. Built like a bear with the disposition of a feral dog, this beast will rip your head off with a single bite of its powerful jaws. They like to hang out with giants who are one of the few creatures that can control them.

Celestian Hound (CR 7) The goodest of any boi, these angelic dogs feature golden fur and glistening wings. They are based on the legends of the aralez, whose very lick is enough to revive someone from death. They are guardians and protectors, stopping at nothing to protect lost travelers from any danger.

Komainu (CR 6) Based on the Japanese lion-dog shrine statues, these elemental dogs are composed of earth and stone. They hold their duty of protecting holy sites seriously and can call upon the earth to swallow their victims whole.
