Dark Below Bestiary [Monster Thursday]

.... I may have lied last time about my last spooky monster collection... -Stephen

The world beneath us, sometimes called the Underdark or the Dark Lands, is quite fascinating, but it can be difficult to know how to stock it with creatures. Here are a few more creatures to prowl the darkness and hunt your players through the twisting tunnels. I've even added in a new race you could add to your own games if you were wanting something from these horrifying underworld.

Baldrin Bloodhunter (CR 3) The baldrin are a new monster that haunt the corridors of the underworld. They are undead and gifted with psionic powers which they use to hunt down victims and capture them for their twisted delight. Bloodhunters are used as hunters to capture prey still alive with their mancatchers.

Baldrin Enslaver (CR 7) Powerful baldrin gifted with psionic talents, these undead can take complete control over another creature, blending and destroying their personality. They are responsible for tending to the slave stocks and ensuring peace remains in the baldrin realms.

Chthonic Priest (CR 4) Priests in the service of a locked away primordial. They hunt through these tunnels, searching for a hidden prison to release their elemental god onto the world.

Fists of Mudanco (CR 6) Monks of Mudanco, the primordial locked away, their fists are powered by elemental energy and begin reflecting the element of their choice. Their path to enlightenment is to tie their forms to the elements and the Inner Planes.

Talpa (CR 1/4 / Playable Race) Had a strong urge to make a playable race, the Talpa are often known as mole-people, though they reject such titles. The talpa were driven from their homes and now they prowl through the Dark Below, hoping to find a new home for them and their kind. Talpa adventurers have often decided that there is no safe place in the darkness and have journeyed to the surface in search of a new home.

Troglodyte Thrasher (CR 2) These reptilian-humanoids are horrible smelling and cruel. Bloodthirsty and cruel, they focus on one thing, eating their fill. The thrasher is similar to the lowly troglodyte except they are stronger and give into their battlelust as they recklessly assault their enemies.

That's all for this week, if you have a group of monsters you'd like to see in a future Monster Thursday, let me know in the comments!
