More spooky and horrible monsters to add to your own games! These creatures are foul and cruel, well, maybe not all of them, and fit into the theme of October. From pumpkins to wicker men, from witch huts to undead, there are a lot of creatures in here... and some of them are even plants! I realized, I haven't really made a lot of plants and I'm glad I could rectify that with these last two posts - plants can be freaky!
Awakened Pumpkin (CR 1) Laugh all you want, but this rolling and tumbling pumpkin is going to bite your leg so hard that you'll die! Created by cultists and druids to protect holy sites, these pumpkins are created through primal magic and feeding them lots and lots of bloody meat.
Pumpkin Patch (CR 3) I may have just made the awakened pumpkin so I could make a monster known as the pumpkin patch... which is a swarm of awakened pumpkins! These round, orange boys roll through the area they are commanded to patrol, attacking any creature they come across. This is quite dangerous for the cultists and druids who crafted them as the pumpkins are incapable of telling friend from foe.
Cannibal Corn (CR 2) These plants are horrifying creatures who rely on the blood of creatures to survive. They travel the world, hunting for vermin, beasts, humanoids, and more to devour, slicing their bodies open and feeding on the rich, dark blood. These plants can take on the form of any plant though they are often known as cannibal corn or vampire plants.
Probably the most horrifying part about these plants is that they carry several gallons of blood in them and when you cut them open, they bleed quite profusely.
Grave Giant (CR 10) Powerful and cruel, these undead giants are seeking revenge on those who betrayed them in life. Often thought to be wights, they can drain the very life force out of a creature. Giant communities try to make sure that these grave giants never rise up as they are quite hard to destroy, their undeath giving them supernatural strength and ability.
Wicker Man (CR 15) I couldn't make a bestiary without including at least one high CR creature! The Wicker Man is a powerful construct that stands dozens of feet high, its wicker burning in an unending fire. First crafted by druids to protect their lands, the wicker men have been adopted by more primal clans like frost giants, cultists, bullywugs, and more.
Witch's Hut (CR 5) The constant traveling companion of a witch, these huts are powerful and sturdy. They are all unique, changing their forms to best match the witch, hermit, druid, or others who created them into being. The most well known of all these huts is Baba Yaga's Dancing Hut which has chicken legs that it runs around on, though other huts might float, walk on wooden scaffolding, and more.
That's all for this week, if you have a group of monsters you'd like to see in a future Monster Thursday, let me know in the comments!
