Salamanders vs. Lizards

I just wanted to let you know that I originally wrote about a race called 'rock salamanders', but after more research, I concluded that salamanders would never live in the desert. Therefore, I changed the race to 'rock lizards.' All of the previous references to salamanders have been altered accordingly.

Awe man, I had assumed you meant salamander in the mythic fire lizard sense this whole time for this exact reason. Red leather that resisted fire and/or heat damage is great for a desert setting. It would have also been the first mystical animal in a world of fairly mundane creatures. Yet not completely out of place because of the powers shown by high level forces of the known animals.
