Feb 14 - Days Like This

It's been awhile since I've written in triplets, so I started there with a simple drum groove and then some chords. The first idea I came up with was happy and uplifting, but I was worried about it being cheesy or just generally not good. So I spent the last bit of my session writing another chord idea with a different vibe and I've included both versions above.
I'm not sure which one I like more. The happy is decent and I like the arps, but the melancholy one feels like it has a more meaningful chord progression. Both of these aren't as strong as recent ideas and I'm not sure I'll return, but if not, I think the drum groove is great and I'd like to repurpose that into a cool song.
What do you think? Do you like the triplets vibe? Do feel like the happy version is uplifting and positive without being cheesy? Or do you like the more melancholy vibes of the 2nd idea?
