July 27 - Forever in Time
Added 2022-07-28 16:31:31 +0000 UTCFor this one, I started out with a chord progression & melody that came naturally. When that happens - you just run with it. Over the next few hours I added some stripped down foley drums, other instrument layers, and a basic arrangement to get to this version.
During the initial session, I went back and forth on this idea. There's a lot to like here: some final fantasy influences, some old-school AN influences, and some Mount Olympus vibes. But a few times I felt like the idea was falling apart a bit and not worth finishing.
Listening back this morning I think I will finish this eventually. It feels like there's a really good idea in here and it's like 70% of the way there. But it needs a lot of FX, transitions, arrangement adjustments, and extra layers to get it right.
